In Med ford
News of interest here is the
.wedding March 23 of Miss
Margaret Jane Nave and Lar
ry G. Fraser at the Valley
Forge, Methodist church, Eliz
bethton, Tenn.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Luther M. Nave
of Elizabethton, and the bride
groom's parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Lome Fraser, 1710 Easy
street, Medford.
. The Rev. O'Dell Jorday of
-KingsporTT Tenn., performed
the ceremony.
The church was decorated
with white gladioli and green
ery, and wedding music was
furnished by Mr. and Mrs.
Eugene Jorday, also of Kings
port. The bride's gown was of
organza over taffeta styled
with a bouffant skirt and
designed with a jacket of AI
encon lace. Her illusion veil
was held by a crown trimmed
with pearls. She carried a
bouquet of white roses and
white orchid.
Miss Rosemary Nave, a sis
ter of the bride, was maid of
honor. Her gown was of pink
taffeta and she wore a match
ing headpiece. She carried a
colonial bouquet of rose car
nations. Dwight Nave, a brother of
the bride, was best man. Ush
ers were Joe Nave, another
brother of the bride, and
Steve Williams, a cousin of
the bride.
The bride attended Eliza
bethton High school and East
Tennessee State college. She

Mr. Fraser received his ed
ucation in the public schools
of Medford and the Univer
ity of Oregon. He served
for four years with the United
States Air Force and now is
attending Capitol Radio Engi
neering institute in Washing
ton. A reception was given im
mediately following the cere
mony by the Misses Mary
Nan Little and Alice Little,
aunts of the bride. Preceding
the wedding, the bride's par
ents entertained at dinner aft
er the rehearsal.
The couple will live in
Washington until November
when the bridegroom is to
graduate from the engineer
ing institute.
Coltons Take
Island Vacation
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Colton,
1619 East Main street, arrived
home Thursday after vaca
tioning since April 10 in Hon
olulu, Hawaii. During their
stay they were guests at Hil
ton's Hawaiian Village and
also made a cruise of Pearl
Harbor and the islands. They
made the trip from Portland
by Pan American Air lines.
Get Together Club
Schedules Meeting
The Get Together club will
meet for a potluck luncheon
on Friday, May 4, at the Girls
Community club. A business
session and social hour will
be held. The serving commit
tee is made up of Mrs. Ethel
Gerrett, Mrs. Yctta Flowers,
Mrs. Guy Baker and Mrs. A.

AAUW Presidents' Annual Dinner Planned Wednesday
The annual presidents' din
ner of the Medford branch of
the American Association of
University Women will be
held Wednesday, May 2. at
6:30 p.m. in the Red Cross
building.
Each person will take copies
of recipes for the dish each
takes. These will be sold dur
ing the evening.
The program for the dinner
includes the installation of
new officers and reports on
the slate AAUW convention
which was held earlier this
month.
Mrs. Edwin Gebhard is in
charge of the dinner. Any
member not contacted by the
calling committee and inter
ested in attending the dinner
may telephone Mrs. Gebhard
at NOrmandy 4-1841.
Final arrangements for the
dinner were made at a recent
board meeting held in the
home of Mrs. Duane O. Richardson.
Attending the state conven
tion from the Medford branch
were Mrs. W. F. Roemer. pres
ident: Mrs. Calvin L. Smith,
president-elect; and Mrs. Em
erson Anderson, state social
and economic issues chairman.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Wood
Jr., have been making their
home at 227 Ninth avenue,
San Mateo, Calif., following
their wedding March 12 in
Las Vegas, Nev.
The bride is the former
Miss Caron Lee L e f f 1 e r,
daughter of Mrs. Clarence A.
Leffler, 101 Chestnut avenue,
and the late Mr. Leffler. The
bridegroom is a son of Mrs.
Frances Wood of Los An
geles, and Hugh Wood of
Burlingame, Calif.
The ceremony was perform
ed at 2:30 o'clock in the after
noon in the White Star chap
el. The Rev. Richard L.
Ewing officiated. A small
group of relatives and friends
attended. Among the guests
at the wedding were the
bridegroom's mother, and his
grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth
Case.
The bride's gown was of
Chantilly lace over satin. The
bodice was designed with
scalloped neckline and her
elbow length veil was held
by a pearl trimmed head
piece. Her bouquet was of or
chids and carnations.
The chapel also was dec
orated with orchids and car
nations.
The bride attended Med
ford High school, Medford
School of Beauty and the
Burlingame, Calif., College
of Beauty Culture. She now
is employed in San Francisco
as a beautician.
The bridegroom attended
Burlingame High school and
the College of San Mateo.
He is employed by Purity
groceries.
Pre-wedding events includ
ed a reception for the bride
elect and her fiance, and a
bridal shower for the bride-
elect, given by friends in San
Mateo.
