Chuck Wagon, Medford, will
honor distinguished and sen
ior citizens of this community.
Those wishing to attend the

Nominated for the distin
guished citizen award are
Rick Wolgamott and Edward
Kimmel; nominated for the
senior citizen award are W. E.
Davies, C. C. Hoover and Har
ry .Hanscom.
Mr. Wolgamott has been a
physical education teacher at
the Eagle Point grade school
since 1058; coached football,
basketball and track. He is
active in Parent-Teacher asso
ciation work; is a merit badge
counselor for Boy Scouts: led
a 4-H Garden Club in 1980;
and was president of the Fry
er Irrigation district.
The candidate belongs to
the Junior Chamber of Com
merce, and helped reorganize
the safety program for Eagle
Point.
Planned Building
Mr. Kimmel, a charier
member of the Eagle Point
Junior Chamber of Com
merce, also has worked with
the Boy Scouts for many
years. He has been active in

ty home rule charier commit
tee which drafted the charter
to be voted on in the coming
election.'
Mr. Hoover has been active
in Rotary, the Eagle Point
Grange, the Southern Oregon
Experiment Station comni.t
tec, the Farm Bureau, the
Cattleman's association, and
the Jackson County Agricul
tural committee. He has pi
oneered in many areas snd
used an original approach for
new results.
He is finishing an extensive
program through the Eagle
Point Grange of tree and bird
seed donations to children in
every school and church in
Jackson county and most
schools in Josephine county.
Logger Nominated
Mr. Hanscom was born and
spent most of his life in Eagle
Point. In school he participat
ed in all major sports and re
ceived the citizenship award
as a sophomore. He is i logger.
The candidate has been es
pecially active with Jaycces
and Boy Scouts, and is past
president and treasurer; he
has been a slate Jaycce direc
tor, lie was foremost in the
movement to build the Scout
Community center, and is
ad fun ii all the fashion and this is the lime to
make strawberry pink Easier cookies. They may be packed
in home-crafted "bunnyiacks" for little guests to take as
souvenirs of the parly.

Mrs. Gcbhard, instructor in
jewelry making for the Adult
Education division of the Med
ford schools, used charts, pic
tures and jewelry which she
had made to explain various
ways of developing designs
and showed how gem stones,
both formal and tumbled,
could be utilized in such
forms.

spring, and Easter is nigh.
So hake a batch of easy Easter
cookies. Serve some with
strawberry milk for a party.
Pack the rest of the cookies
in perky bunny bags for each
little guest to take home.
There's a pretty pink and
white theme to this simple
party for small folk. Even
the cookies arc spring-like
pink because they are made
with quick strawberry-flavored
mix, the handy powder
that flavors milk a happy
strawberry and tints it pink.
The cookies, in bunny,
chick and egg shapes, are
easy to decorate with a simple
! semi-sweet chocolate frosting
' that works like a charm, even
j for beginners.
I The bunny sacks are a mere
matter of paper bags cray
oned with bunny faces, and
pink-crayoned ears stapled to
the top of the sack. Fill the
bags with cookies, tie a rib
bon around the " neck" and
bunny-sacks are ready for fa
vors and to tote home cookies
for each guest. Older children
will want to help make the
crayon and paper bag bun
nies, as well as the cookies.
For the cookies use 13 cup
quick strawberry - flavored
mix, 2:i cup sugar, 73 cup
shortening. 1 egg. 1 table-
I spoon lemon juice, 2 cups
sifted all purpose flour, 2
teaspoons baking powder, ' j
teaspoon salt and semi - sweet
chocolate morsels.
Cream together strawberry
flavored mix, sugar and short
ening. Beat in egg and lem
on juice. Sift in flour, baking
powder and salt; mix until
well blended. Roll out dough
'a-inch thick on waxed paper.
Cut out with bunny, chicken,
scalloped and oval cutters.
For oval cutter, use 2' 2-inch
round cutter and blend to
make oval shape. Press semi
sweet chocolate morsels, flat
side up. into bunny and chick
en cookies to make eyes.
Press 3 morsels, flat side
down, into scalloped cookies
to make flower center. Bake
on ungreased cookie sheet in
moderate oven (350'F.) 8 to
10 minutes. When cool, deco
rate egg-shaped cookies with
Chocolate Frosting put j
through cake decorator or
paper cone. Makes approxi
mately 3 dozen cookies.
For the frosting use '2 6-:
ounce package cup) semi
sweet chocolate morsels, 1
tablespoon shortening, 1 table- j
spoon light corn syrup, 1
tablespoon water. i
I Combine ingredients in
saucepan. Place over low
heat, stirring until smooth, j
Remove from heat. Chill until j
