ORDINANCE 585
AN ORDINANCE approving plans
and specifications for the construc
tion of concrete curbs on and the
paving of Eighth Street from the
Southerly end of Eighth Street to
Hazel Street in said city, declaring
the Council's intent to cause the
aforesaid improvement of said
street to be made- and calling for
public hearing.
WHEREAS, subsequent to April
4, 1961 a new petition was filed
with the Council of the City of
Central Point requesting the im
provement of Eighth Street by the
construction of curbs on and pav
ing of said Eighth Street from the
Southerly end of Eighth Street to
Hazel Street in the City of Central
Point and plans and specifications
for such improvement have been
prepared and are on file in the
office of the Recorder of said city,
now therefore
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
CENTRAL POINT DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the above men
tioned petition ifled with the Coun
cil requesting the improvement of
Eighth Street by the construction
of curbs on and the paving of said
Eighth Street from the Southerly
end thereof to Hazel Street in the
City of Central Point is hereby ap
proved and the plans and specifica
tions for such proposed improve
ment on file in the office of the
Recorder of said city are ratified,
approved and confirmed.
Section 2: That it Is the inten
tion of the Council to cause Eighth
Street from the Southerly end of
Eighth Street to Hazel Street to be
Improved by the construction of
curbs on and paving thereof in
accordance' with the above mention
ed plans and specifications there
: for on file in the office of the City
Recorder at the City Hall in Cen
tral Point, Oregon, to which plans
and specifications reference is here
by made, and to assess upon each
lot, or part thereof, adjacent to and
benefited by such improvement its
proportionate share of the cost
thereof as provided by the Charter
of the City of Central Point.
Section 3: The Council will meet
at the City Hall in Central Point
on May 18, 1961 at the hour of 7:30
o'clock p.m., at which time and
place the owners of said adjacent
property are hereby called upon
to appear before the Council and
show cause, if any, why said street
should not be improved, as afore
said. In accordance with said plans
and specifications and why said
property should not be assessed for
said improvement.
Section 4: The City Recorder Is
fa hereby directed to serve notice
of said hearing upon the aforesaid
property owners by publishing this
ordinance once in the Medford
Mail Tribune, a newspaper of gen
eral circulation within the City of
Central Point, at least ten (10) days
before the date of said hearing and
by posting five (5) copies of this
ordinance, one thereof at each of
five (5) public and conspicuous
places In the City of Central Point,
for a period of at least ten (10)
days prior' to said hearing.
