thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also

We are glad to see church leaders becoming more
concerned over divisions in "Christendom." And, we
believethe Lord's prayer that all believers be one is
both practical and possible. This kind of unity, how
ever, will never result from inquisitions, coercions,
synods, councils, mergers, unions, or. any kind of ec
clesiastical efforts. To be "perfectly joined together in
the same mind and in the same judgment" we must
return to the Bible for authority in religion. Until we
do this we will continue to be divided and unchristian.
So called "church authority" and traditions and creeds
of men will always confuse our. minds, destroy our
faith in God's word, divide us and lead us from God.
It is no compliment for a "christian nation" to live
In fear of atheism, or an atheistic power. Those "who
are workers together with God" (2 Corinthians 6:1)
needjiot be fearful, for there is no power on earth as
potent as the Gospel of Christ (Romans 1:16) and no
way of life as strong as Christianity (Ephesians 6-10)
True faith dispels fear, dissolves division, develops
character, and unites God's DeoDle in ONE hnd i-r-i.
sians 1:18). This one body will preach the Lord's will
(Matthew 28:19-20) which frees all who learn and
obey IT (John 8:31-32).
Too long have we "eaten the fruit of our own doines
and reaped the harvest of our own sowing" (Jeremiah
21:14, Galatians 6:7). Let us learn to speak as the
oracles of God (1 Peter 4:11), for they ALONE can
guide us unto EVERY GOOD WORK (2 TimothvVlR
17). With the Bible ONLY as our rule iT faith nrt
practice we will be UNITED. God will be elorified
Christ will be Dreached tn Ai r .7" D!-ll0,riVed:
