The Mass of the Presancl.
(led, so-called because the holy
communion which la distribu
ted was consecrated at the
Holy Thursday mass, will be-
gin tonight at 7:30 o'clock in
Sa"red Heart church.
The ceremonies, in addition
to the distribution of holy
communion, will consist of
the readings of the Old Testa
ment lessons and of the Pas
sion according to John;
prayers for all physical and
spiritual needs of mankind;
the unveiling of the cross dur
ing wh'ch the "Reproaches,"
ta'cen from Psalm 135, are
. sung; and the veneration of
the cross.
The rites of the Easter Vigil,
which begins the celebration
of the Resurrection, will start
fit 11 p.m. on Holy Saturday.

Christian church choir will be
a featured part of the Easter

worship Sunday. The choir of
men and women, making its
first appearance, will sing two
selections entitled "The Mas
ter Walts" and "Sing All
Choirs of Heaven." Mrs. Joe
Kaveleskie will be pianist.
"Art Thou The Christ" will
be the title of the sermon
message by Miss Jean Cun
ningham, minister of the
church. Prior to her message,
Miss Cunningham will sing a
vocal solo entitled tht same as

Easter will be observed by

by the Junior Girls class, Mrs.

Anniversary
A homecoming dinner held
recently at Gold Hill Christian
church celebrated the tenth
anniversary of the local
church.
Among the guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Davis, former
Gold Hill residents who have
been living In Colorado until
recently, when they returned
to the Medford area. Other
out of town guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Hover, Central
Point.
A progress history of the
church was reviewed by mem
bers. Music included a piano duet
by Mrs. Carl Hover and Miss
Jem Cunningham, minister of
the church. A vocnl trio com
posed of Mrs. Hover, Mrs.
Leonard Andrews and Miss
Cunningham also sang.
Gnlcn E. Jordan showed
colored slides and spoke on
Japan where he was stationed
as a chaplain.

Easier Services
Easter service at the First

To Hear Talk
A public talk entitled "The

nesses throughout the world
on that dale.
The answer to the question
"What Has the Bible to Do

Third Assembly
New York-"So there is to
be another big meeting of the
World Council of Churches in
New Delhi in November, 1961
That will be the third in 14
years, won't it? Wasn't there
one in Amsterdam, and one
in the United Slates at Evan-
ston? I suppose the meetings
do some good, but I can't sec
that they help us very much
in our job here with this
struggling congregation.'
We have all heard the
voice before, says the anony
mous author of the pre-as-
sembly study booklet. "Who
will be at the Third Assem
bly of the WCC in Delhi? The
trusted leaders of the
churches, archbishops, bish
ops, moderators, denomina
tional secretaries and super
intendents - theologians and
scholars who are expert in
various fields of sludv and re-
search-nnd members of the
WCC staff. But many will be
pastors, laymen and women,"
the booklet answers. All of
them, Including the church
leaders, will be there by vote
and resolution of the appro
priate authorities of the legis
lative assemblies of their
churches.
