Smart Cookiei
.The Smart Cookiei 4-H
.' cooking club was called to
order March 6 by Sue Lisen
bee. Roxanne Whipple read
the roll call.
Myrna Young led the alle
giance to the flag, and Cor
ririe Flory started the 4-H
pledge.
We would like to thank the
West Side extension unit for
our sing-along record. We
- planned our program for the
potluck dinner, and we learn
ed to set a table and we all
' did well.

Desert Ptgaiui
The March meeting of the
Eagle Point Desert Pegasus
4-H Horse club was held at
' the home of its leader, Mr.
Dunn.
A demonstration on riding
equipment was given by Lau-
ramay Noble, ana Dale ana
Willie West. The first, second
and third steps of the 4-H
saddle horse advancement
program were taken by many
of the club members.
Our visit to the Medford
Mail Tribune plant is sched
uled March 15. All club mem
bers are to meet at the news
paper office at 1:15 p.m.
At the April club meeting
a demonstration on horse
judging will be given by Dale
Ackerman, Regina and Leslie
Krambeal.
March 17, at 7 p.m., a St.
Patrick day potluck supper
and parent meeting will be
held at the Eagle Point ele
mentary school cafeteria. The
demonstration of riding equip
ment will be given again.

The Milk Pail Ranglcrs 4-H
club held a meeting at Mr.
Cook's house recently. We
planned our window display
for 4-H week.
In addition, we planned a
lour at Jorgensen's dairy.
The meeting was adjourned
and refreshments were served.

The Central Point 4-H Beef
club held Its monthly meeting
at the horn of Carolyn Sid
ner. We worked on our program
for the general 4-H meeting
March 14. We will have a
weighing tour March 17.

Antelope Club
The last meeting of the
Antelope Sewing and Cook
ing club was held recently at
the home of Gretchen Oustor-
hout.
Alice Woolfolk led the club'
in some songs. When roll was
called the club was to answer
with good company manners.
A visiting club from Eagle
Point attended.
The club members prepared
the lunch. The menu was spa
ghetti with meat sauce, muf
fins and relishes.
For 4-H week Georgia Hub
bard helped put a window dis
play in Newberry's store In
Medford.
The date for the buffet sup-
per is Marcn 17. uommitlecs
were appointed for decora
tions and games. Lola Acker-
man, Judy Hill and Ddnna
Geren were appointed for the
decoration committee. Diane
Barton and Georgia Hubbard
are on the game committee.
We are Ho answer roll in
cooking with saety tips.
In sewing, Lola Ackerman,
Donna Geren and Paulette
Anderson were appointed to
find a skit for the Friendship
Follies.
The first, second and third
year girls were to meet at
Karen Jossy's on March 14
to sew. On March 12 the rest
of the 4-H members met at
Mrs. Anderson's to sew all
day.
At the next meeting roll
will be answered with good
judging tips.
The next meeting will be
April 1 at Liz Flint's home.
It will be a sack lunch.

bread which we had made
and gave us suggestions. Mary

Diry-A-Teen
The third meeting of the
Applegate Dairy-a-Tcers, was
held at the Kuiterts home.
Thirteen members and six
visitors were present.
We had a demonstration by
Sally Herriott and Diane
Brewster. After the meeting
we discussed what we were
going to do next month.
After the meeting we had
refreshments.

Murphy Barbara BreU,
member of the Keen Kutlers
Sewing club, Murphy, was one
nf the 4-H club members from
Josephine county who took
part In a recent KBES-TV pro
gram honoring 4-H work.
The program, featuring
Marvin Young and Miss Susan
Houston of the Josephine
County Extension office, was
part of National 4-H Club
week. There were eight club
members, representing many
types of club work, taking
part. Livestock, agriculture,
sewing, cooking, hobby, and
leadership 4-H clubs were rep
resented by having a member
of a club of each different type
take part In a general dis
cussion of 4-H work.
Forettry Squirrels
The Elk-Trail 4-H Forestry
Squirrels held their February
meeting at the home of Sally
Tucker.
Mr. Brog, our new 4-H
' agent came to our meeting,
and told about different
things he had done at other
clubs. Also he looked at some
of the mounts that the mem
bers had mounted.
Margaret and Leonard Han
son will be junior 4-H leaders
soon.
The meeting was adjourned
and Mrs. Tucker served re

The meeting of the Butter
ed Buns 4-H club was called
to order by President Kathy
Thompson. After the flag sa
lute there was a discussion
about possibly having a cake
sale to raise money for a scrap
book to give the children of
one of the Rogue Valley hos
pitals. The sale will be held:
April 1.
Mary Louise Truly was
chosen chairman of a commit
tee to plan a skit for a pot
luck dinner to be held April
5. Kae Brown and Myrna
Long were each chosen chair
man of a committee on the
same topic. Mary Louise's
committee volunteered to try
out for FriebdJup Follies to
Reese Creek Renegadei
The meeting of the Reese
Creek Renegades was held
March 8 at the home of Mr.
and Mrs, Callaway. Roll call
was answered by reporting on
our project.
We had a test on parts of a
daify cow.
We discussed plans for a
demonstration at the Jersey
Spring show.
Steven Marshall gave a re
port on animal grooming.
The next meeting will be
held March 22 at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Tillman.

The Zcsty Stitchers 4-H ?!ub
met March 11 at Mrs. Phil
lipps' home at 10 a.m.
There were five members
and one visitor present. The
visitor was Ricky Phillipps.
We sewed in the morning and
the business meeting was held
hi the afternoon.
The next meeting will be
held on March 25 at Mrs. Phil
lipps' home.

Handy Annies
The Handy Annies 4-H club
will hold Its sixth mcetini
Thursday at the home of Mrs.
Pullman, one of our leaders.
We will talk about what we
can do for the "Friendship
Follies."
At our last meeting In Feb
ruary we decided to wait un
til 4-H Sunday in May to put
up a display Instead of doing
tt during 4-H week which was
also Girl Scout wevk. Martha
Merrlman rend us a letter she
got from a girl in the Philip
pines. We are all going to
correspond with Filipino
girls.. Two girls were to give
us a cooking demonstration
but one of them had the
mumps.
We played singing games
and refreshments were served
by Jeanette and Jocelvn
Greer.
Last week several of the
girls who take sewing proj
ects saw a film on pattern fit
ting and went to town with
Mrs. Pullman to look at mate
rials and patterns for their
dresses.
Mrs. Carnegie Is helping
the Fun and Sun girls.
