Indoor Coral Garden
By Evelyn P. Johnson
A coral garden makes an attractive cen
terpiece for the table. You can make one in
a fascinating way.
Take a clean lump of soft coal. Place it
in a shallow glass dish. Pour over the coal
a solution of one tablespoon each of water,
salt, and bluing.
After a few days, white "reefs" or crystals
will form on the coal. More interest and
color may be added by sprinkling the
"garden" with a few drops of colored ink.
Every other day, pour into the dish one
teaspoon of water mixed with one teaspoon
of salt. Be careful not to pour the solution
directly on the growing crystals, and do not
shake the dish, as this may jar the crystals
olT the coal.
Bumpity-Bump

Mark a large circle (six to nine feet in
diameter) on the ground. Two players stand
inside the circle at opposite sides. They
stand on one foot and keep their arms fold
ed. Tncn they start to hop toward each
other. Each wants to bump the other out
of the circle. But each must do this without
putting down his foot, using his hands, or
falling over. The one who does, loses. Then
two more players try Bumpity-Bump!

Handcuff Game
By Jane McHenry
Here's a good way to break the ice at par
ties. Seal two people on opposite sides of a
small table. Tie their right wrists together
with string, leaving a 10-inch length be
tween them.
Give each one a plate of ice cream (or
cooled soup), a spoon, and, after having them
put their free hand behind their backs, tell
them to cat. Unless there is careful co
ordination, this can be anywhere from hi
larious to disastrous. If the party is large,
set up two couples at a time.
