Mrs. Dunham was born
Feb. 18, 1886. in Iowa. She
married Roy Dunham Doc. 1,
1912, in Sterling, Colo. They
moved to Ashland from Colo
rado in 1936.
Survivors include her hus
band, Roy Dunham, Ashland;
one daughter, Mrs. Del in a
Peters, Ashland; two sons.

Burglary Reported To
Police Late Thursday
Medford police are investi
gating a burglary Thursday
night at the Ellis Associated
Service station, 836 Crater
Lake ave., in which an esti
mated $7G5 worth of money
and merchandise was taken.
Included among the stolen
merchandise police said, are
several sets of tires, a sewing
machine, green stamps, cigar
ettes and $7 in change. Entry
was apparently gainea
through an unlocked door.

More than 600 women In
Jackson county attended the
four film showings on cancer
last week sponsored by the
American Cancer Society.
Mrs. E. S. Wenljar, hostess
chairman, said there was
"overwhelming" response and
interest, both in the film and
in added explanations and
answers to questions given by
a panel of doctors after each
showing.
The film, "Time and Two
Women," explains the "Pap"
smear test for early detection
of uterine cancer, which
could make possible a cervi
cal cancer cure rate of near
ly 100 per cent. About 55 per
cent of uterine cancer patients
are now being saved.
The local society will make
this and other cancer films
available for group showings
and information may be ob

Syngman Rhee
In Fair Condition

man Rhee, former president
of the Republic of Korea, was
reported in fair condition Fri
day at Tripler Army Hospital
where he was being observed
tor a suspected cardio-vascu-lar
ailment.
Rhee, 83, was admitted to
the hospital late Wednesday
night. He suffered a "fainting
spell" as he was being re
leased Thursday after an over
night observation stay.
His physician said the for
mer Korean president also
would be treated in the light
of "previous ailments and
medical difficulties." Rhee has
suffered double pneumonia
three limes.
Rhee came to Hawaii with
his Austrian-born wife, Fran
cesco, last May "to relax in
solitude" after being forced
