Has Party

home January 21. During the
champagne party the group
christened the Ross' dog "Ma
Chere Tinker Belle," a toy
poodle which will be the
club s mascot in the future.
The group met at the Ross
home earlier to start on an
afternoon tour through the
valley.

of the club, served as master
of ceremonies for the eve
ning's festivities.
Two Students
n Play Company
Robert A. Bray and Steph
en Hoag of Medford will be
members of the company
when the Oregon State col
lege speech department stages
an old-fashioned melodrama
February 9, 10 and 11.
Six plays are presented by
the department each year to
give speech students expert-
ence in dramatic productions
and to give other students an
opportunity to sec some of
the nation s best plays. The
melodrama, "The Great Dia
mond Robbery," Is a special
feature of this year's series.
Mr. Hoag, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Leo E. Hong, 158 Renault
avenue, is a Junior in civil
engineering. He Is music di
rector for the production. Mr.
Bray, a senior In business and
technology, is a son of Dr.
and Mrs. Jouctt P. Bray, 317

Easter Monday
Event Planned
The annual Easter Monday
luncheon of St. Anne's Altar
society of Sacred Heart Cath
olic church will be held April
3. "Spring Debut" will be the
theme.
Plans for the event were
made at a recent luncheon at
the R. A. Naumcs home. Mrs.
Naumcs is general chairman.
The Easter Monday lunch
eon is always one of the larg
est spring benefit parties held
in the valley.
Brays Return
From Vacation
Dr. and Mrs. J. P. Bray
have returned to their Lozier
lane home after spending two
weeks In California. They
were guests of Mr. and Mrs.
William Brown and Frank
Brown at Trinidad for several
days, and then continued to
Ukiah where they visited Mrs.
Bray's brother-in-law and
sister, Mr. and Mrs. Bouncy
Rcimcr. The Rcimers operate
a vineyard on the Russian
river.
Returning to Trinidad. Dr.
Bray made a fishing trip up
the Klamath river with How
ard Matson, reporting that
Mr. Matson drives his Jeep up
and down the stream bed to
each his favorite fishing
spots.
The Brays brought back
with them some native wild
California holly bushes for
their garden here, q
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bruning,
3207 Old Military road, have
announced the engagement of
their daughter, Denise, to the
Rev. John O. Reynolds, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Harold V,
Reynolds, Santa Rosa, Calif.
The news was made known
at a party given last night at
Uie Bruning home.
An early summer wedding
is planned.
Miss Bruning attended Med
ford High school and will re
ceive her degree in elemen
tary education in June at
Lewis and Clark college,
Portland. She has held the
office of vice-president of As
sociated' Women Students and
has been active on the chapel
committee, being in charge
of securing student and fac
ulty leaders for the chapel
services. Miss Bruning is a
member of the Student Ore
gon Education association.
The Rev. Mr. Reynolds is
a graduate of the University
of California and of Prince
ton Theological seminary. He
was assistant pastor of First
Presbyterian church, Medford,
from 1955 to 1959, and is now
pastor of the Westminster
Presbyterian church.

will discuss plans for a valen
tine party to be held Saturday,
February 11. Every mother

Choir Member
At Party on Wednesday
Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Adamson
were hosts to the members of
the Chancel choir of First
Methodist church for an annu
al party last Wednesday night
The party was held in the Li
brary Room of the Church,
and Mrs. Harry Meyers was
the honored guest. This was in
recognition of 20 years of con
tinuous service to the choir.
Mr. Meyers, who is a music
instructor in the Central Point
schools, took part in the skit
which told the story of the
Meyers family, as did their
daughter, Carol, who is Mrs.
John Lynch, and her 8-year-old
daughter, Candy. Due to
the illness of her little son,
Johnnie, neither Johnnie nor
his father, were able to attend.

Medford Garden club will
have as guest speaker Febru
ary 2 Claude Mills, Portland.
Mr. Mills, who was awarded
the 1960 Certificate of Merit
for his years of support and
devotion to garden clubs from
the Oregon Federation of
Garden clubs, will offer color
slides to illustrate his talk
on horticulture.
His topic will be "New
Plant Introductions," or show
ing something new and dif
ferent for your garden.
Mrs. Ray Cyr will give a
talk on the shrub of the
month, "Daphne Mezcreum."
Mrs. L. P. Renlchler will
be tea chairman.

Honored
Martha Meyers was born In
Germany, and came to the
United State at the age of fif
teen. Harry Meyers, born in
Amsterdam, Holland, decided
to seek his fortune in America
when he was seventeen. The
couple became acquainted in
Wisconsin, and were married
there, coming to Oregon more
than 20 years ago.
Mrs. Louise Davis presented
a gift from the choir, with ap
propriate poetry eulogizing
Mrs. Meyer's years of service
and the "millions of notes" she
has sung within these walls.
Mrs. Meyers responded with
the remark that the choir was
one of the great pleasures of
her life, and that she had
loved every single note, as
well as the very happy fellow
ship in this choir.

son have returned to their

er being in Washington, D.C.,
for the inauguration of Presi
dent John F. Kennedy.
The Jacksons attended the
Inaugural Ball held at the
Sheraton Park hotel as guests
of Gen. Jess Larson. They
were among a group of guests
invited to a cocktail party
given by Gen. and Mrs. Ira
Eaker in honor of Donald
Douglas, but due to the storm
condition in the city that even
ing, were forced to return to
their hotel without reaching
the club where the party was
held.

Miss Marsha O'Sullivan,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.

named Marylhurst college
princess for the Intercollegiate
Winter Carnival at Mt. Hood.
