Can Collide - A vehicle i
operated by Stanley Ivan '
Dresbach, 36, of route 1, box
75, Rogue River, was exten
sively damaged in the rear
and left side Wednesday after
noon in an accident on East
Evans Creek rd. about six
miles from Rogue River, state
police reported. The vehicle
was said to have been travel
ing about 10 miles an hour
when it was hit from behind
by a ear driven by Henry
Richard Holsinger, 40, of
route 1, box 67B, Rogue Riv
er. Holsinger told officers that
he had entered a fog bank and
was starting to slow down
whiQ he came uiQn the Dres
bach car. Holsinger's vehicle
had to be towed from the
scene by wrecker.

Flue Fire - Firemen sum
moned to a flue fire about
12:30 o'clock this morning at
the Leonard Earl home, 415
Newton St., said that heat
from the flue ignited the wall
and burned a four by five
foot area. Minor damage re
sulted to the roof. Another
flue fire was reported at the
home of Mrs. Annie E. BroWn,
329 Haven St., about 5:40 p.m.

Missing - Harry Maitland
Sanford, 65,. of 710 North
Fifth st., Jacksonville, was re
ported missing to sheriff's
deputies Wednesday. Sanford,
who was last seen the eve
ning of Dec. 31, is about 5
feel, five inches tall, weighs
130 pounds and has graying
brown hair. He was believed
to have been driving a light
gray 1950 Buick at the time
of his disappearance. Persons
having information about the
man are to call the sheriff's
office.

MRS. RUTH PARKER
Funeral services for Mrs.
Ruth Anna Parker, 68, of 610
South Central ave., who died
in a local hospital Tuesday,
will be read by a Christian
Scientist at Perl Funeral home
Friday at 1:30 1Q1. Private
committal services will be at
the Siskiyou Crematorium.
Mrs. Parker was born.Scpt
30. 1892. in Mulvane, Kan.,
and had lived in Meriford for
the past 35 years.
Mrs. Parker was active in
the American Legion auxil
iary, Medford. serving as
president and secretary, and
was a mombrt for 35 years.
Survivors include her hus
band, Carold J. Parker, Med
ford; one daughter. Mrs. Nata
lie Earnest, New York; three
sisters, Mrs. Mabel Buck,
California, Mrs. Myrtle Kes
singer, kansas; Mrs. Edath
Pease, California; one brother,
Otis Schaper, Kansas, and two
grandsons.
It is the request of the fam
ily that donations be made to
the building fund of Sacred
Heart hospital.
