Taylor Selected
New President of
Medford Chamber
Robert Taylor was elected
president of the Medford
Chamber of Commerce at
Thursday's meeting of the
chamber board of directors
according to Don McNeill,
chamber manager.
Other new officers are
Frank Bash, first vice presi
dent; Murray Gardiner, sec
ond vice president; and Clar
ence Young, treasurer.
A new program for the
coming year is being worked
out by the president, other
officers and the executive
committee, McNeill said.

bers are Ken Baker, Robert
Cunningham, Walter Garner,
Manville Heisel, Ray Johnson,
S. V. McQueen, John Mof
fatt and Joe Moore.
The chamber's annual meet
ing will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 27, in the Rogue
Valley Country club.
"Between now and time of
the annual meeting, the cham
ber will work on the annual
report which will include a
summary of the chamber's ac
tivities for the year, and an
audit," the chamber manager
said.
"We will also be resubmit
ting committee preference
sheets to the general member
ship for formation of new
committees for 1961. Some of
these committees, like the
legislative committee, will
have to form rather quickly,"
he added.

Plan Introduced
By State Farm
A new driver classification
plan which cuts insurance
rates for most low mileage
drivers is being introduced in
Oregon by State Farm Mutual
Automobile Insurance .com
pany, according to Donald E
Day, of the Medford agency
office.
The net effect will be an
estimated $103,900 reduction
In State Farm's annual pre
mium income from its Ore
gon policyholders, Day ex
plained. It will, however,
mean higher charges for some
high mileage policyholders
and most single male drivers
under 25.
Discounts are now allowed
'for both second car and com
pact car, or both discounts
may be applied to the same
car.
A new program also covers
those drivers having a hard
time Retting insurance such
as single male drivers under
25, men and women drivers
over 65. and drivers with
minor driving infractions
State Farm's new standard
risk Droeram offers full cov
erage to motorists in these
groups who qutfllfy. The
standard risk premiums may
be lowered through accident
'free driving. .
