ceremony held November 4 at
First Methodist church, Med
ford. Dr. George G. Roseberry of
ficiated at the 8 o'clock eve
ning rites. Baskets of bronze
and yellow chrysanthemums
and woodwardia fern deco
rated the church and lighted
candles in floor candelabra
were at the altar. White satin
bows with yellow chrysanthe
mums marked the pew ends.
Mrs. Charles R. Adamson,
Medford, played the organ
wedding music and accompa
nied the two soloists, the Rev.
and Mrs. E. W. Irby, Jackson
ville.
The bride wore a floor
length white Duchesse lace
gown fashioned with fitted
bodice, long sleeves and bouf
fant skirt. The skirt was of
tiers of pleated tulle with
overskirt of lace. Her finger
tip length veil of illusion was
held by a crown of seed pearls
and sequins and her single
strand of pearls was a gift
from the bridegroom. Site car
ried a bouquet of pink baby
rosebuds and stcphanotis en
circling a white orchid.
The bride wore a gold brace
let, originally owned by her
great grandmother and since
worn by all brides in the fam
ily. Everett Morris, Ft. Klam
ath, gave his sister-in-law in
marriage.
Mrs. Jerry Gleaves was ma
tron of honor for her sister.
Bridesmaids were sisters, Miss
Oteka Sheperd, Portland, and
Miss Oleta Sheperd, Medford.
Mrs. Gleaves wore a frock
of deep lavender silk taffeta
and organza trimmed with
white fur collar and cuffs.
The bridesmaids' dresses were
of pale lavender and they all
wore tiny net veils. Their
flowers were pale pink carna
tions.
Candle ighters were Ste
phen Gleaves, Seattle, and
Kathleen Mitchell, nephew
and niece of the bride. Kath
leen wore a turquoise silk or
ganza frock with flowered
headdress. Terry Hald, Ash
land, was flower girl. She
wore a green polished cotton
frock. Marty Gleaves, nephew
of the bride, Seattle, was ring
bearer.
Brian Watson served as
best man and seating the
guests were Gary Schaffer
and Gary Kranenburg, cousins
of the bridegroom.
For her daughter s wedding
and reception which followed
in the church, Mrs. Mitchell
wore a bronze and black
Japanese silk print dress with
brown and beige accessories.
Her corsage was of yellow
rosebuds. Mrs. Barnett wore
a green silk print dress with
green accessories. Her corsage
was of yellow and bronze
chrysanthemums. Mrs. Vcrna
McCandliss, Agate street,
Medford, grandmother of the
bridegroom, wore a tan wool
suit with matching accessories
and a corsage of pink rose
buds.
Mrs. Christian Hald cut and
served the tiered wedding
cake and Mrs. Charles Per
kins, Seattle, poured coffee.
Presiding at the punch bowl
was Miss Oteka Sheperd.
Carol Bergstrom was in
charge of the guest book and
Debbie Brown, Ft. Klamath,
passed the bridegroom's cake.
The couple traveled to Cali
fornia and Nevada on their
wedding trip, the bride wear
ing for traveling a royal blue
Italian knit suit with white
accessories. Her corsage was
a white orchid. They are mak
ing their home at 1059 Mor
row road.
A rehearsal buffet dinner
was held for members of the
bridal party at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Barnett in Med
ford prior to the wedding.
Among the out of town
guests attending the wedding
were Mr. Gleaves, Seattle; Mr.
and Mrs. Edwin Parcheti and
daughter, Tacoma, Wash.; Mr.
and Mrs. Daniel Brown, Mrs.
Morris, all Ft. Klamath, and
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kranen
burg, Klamath Falls,

Higinbotham, whose wedding
to Gerald William Anderson
is set for November 26, has
been honored at two recent
parties.

She sings with the choir.
About 50 attended the party.
Community Bible church in
Central Point honored the
bride-elect at a shower given
in Central Point. Mrs, Lewis
Collins and Mrs. Simmie Hil
lard headed the committee in
charge, and about 60 mem
bers of the congregation at
tended the event, held in the
church recreation room. A
program was given and Miss
Higinbotham was presented
gifts for her new home.
The bride-elect, a nurse at
Swedish hospital in Seattle,
will arrive in the valley be
fore Thanksgiving. The wed
ding will be held at Commu
nity Bible church, and the
Rev. Rolf Hansen, former pas
tor of the church, will come
from Spokane to read the cer
emony. He will be assisted by
the Rev. Paul Kroon, present
pastor. The Rev. Mr. Hansen
will be accompanied by Mrs.
Hansen and their family.

Medford Woman
Away for Month
Mrs. Fred Rankin, Rich
mond avenue, left Friday for
Portland to attend an infor
mal meeting of the commu
nity services committee of the
Oregon Council on Aging.
She is a member of the com
mittee. From Portland Mrs. Rankin
planned to continue to Seattle
where she will spend a month
with Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Tul
lock, cousins. While in the
Washington city, Mrs. Rankin
plans to visit and survey the
Hamilton Senior center.

Louis Clayson, well known
tenor, will be one of the solo
ists for a concert to be given
this afternoon at 3 o'clock at
Medford High school audi
torium by the Philharmonic
Society of Southern Oregon.
Mr. Clayson, formerly on the
faculty of Southern Oregon
college and now teaching at
Sacramento State college in
California, will sing with Mrs,
Lois Reed, Mrs. Lois Utter
bach and Maynard Hadley in
Rossini's "Stabat Mater"
which will be the principal
work on this afternoon's pro
gram. The concert will open
with a dramatic overture com
posed by Director Richard D.
Werner, and will also include
Bizet's "L'Arlesienne Suite."
Mrs. Virginia Westerfield will
play the saxophone solo for
this number. Tickets will be
sold at the door and coffee
will be served at intermission.
Mrs. Fred W. Greene (nee Sheryl Owen) is shown in her
wedding gown following the ceremony this fall in St. Paul's
Episcopal church, Burlingame, Calif. Mrs. Greene, a daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. William Owen, Millbrae, Calif., and her
husband, a son of Col. and Mrs. Fred W. Greene, Long
Mountain road. Eagle Point, are students at Oregon State
college.
Eugene Bennett To Show
Works at Rogue Gallery
A one-man show of paint
ings, mosaics and sculpture
by Eugene Bennett will open
Tuesday, November 15, at
the Rogue Gallery, 220 West
Main street.
Mr. Bennett, Medford art
ist and teacher, will be hon
ored at a reception Tuesday
from 8 until 10 p.m. at the
gallery. Nearly 100 of his
works will be included in the
show.
The exhibit will continue
through December 4.
Mr. Bennett currently has
exhibits at the Benjamin Gal
leries, Chicago, the Art Rent
al Galleries at Chicago Art
Institute and Portland Art
Museum and Architectural
had one-man shows at South
ern Oregon college, Ashland;
Portland Art Museum, Kla
math Art association, Kla
math Falls; and was the
sweepstakes winner of the an.
nual Southern Oregon Art Ex
hibit in Grants Pas9 in Au
gust. His works were also ex
hibited at the Oregon State
fair and the Artists of Oregon
Annual show at the Portland
Art Museum both in Scptem
ber. During June ho exhibited
at four art fairs in Chicago.

To Hold Annual Luncheon
Ashland Ladies of Elks will
be guests of Medford Ladies
of Elks at a luncheon and
card party Tuesday, Novem
ber 15, in the parly lounge
at the Elks temple. Festivities
will start at noon with a so
cial half hour preceding the
serving of luncheon at 12:30
p.m.
This is the annual party of
the two groups and it is sug
gested that this would be an
advantageous time for inac
tive members and for wives
of new Elks members to at
tend and become acquainted.
For those wishing to play
cards, there will be tables for
bridge, canasta and pinochle.
Medford women attending
are requested to take a salad.
