name of Democratic Sen.
Wayne Morse of Oregon will
appear in the presidential
column on the North Dakota
ballot this November. .
Four men filed Thursday
as Nonpartisan League elect
ors in behalf of Morse.
A petition containing 289
names was filed at the secre
tary of state's office before
noon. The number was 11
short of the legal minimum
needed to get on the ballot.
One half-hour before the 5
p.m. deadline on filings, K. W,
Simons of Zap brought in
the needed signatures.
The Morse move was in
terpreted as an effort to create
a third party in North Dakota.
The Nonpartisan League held
a Joint convention with the
Democrats this year and
Simons opposed the move.
If Morse drew five per
cent of the total vote, a third
party would be created with
ballot representation in North
Dakota.

With Herbed Crumbi
There are "no bones to
pick" about it, fish fillets are 1
among the most popular types
of ready - to - cook fish. We
spiced these with an oregano
and marjoram dressing tor
your taste - pleasure. Recipe
makes six servings,
l'.j pounds fish fillets
Salt
6 slices butter
3 cups soft bread crumbs
m teaspoon salt
Vs teaspoon ground black
pepper
'.i teaspoon whole oregano
leaves, crumbled
'i teaspoon marjoram
leaves, crumbled
Vi cup (1 cube) butter,
melted
Cut fish into six serving
size pieces; place in a greased
nine inch baking pan and
sprinkle with salt. Place a
slice of butter or margarine
on each piece. Combine re
maining ingredients and cover
each piece of fish with one
half cup of the mixture. Bake
in moderate, 375 degree, oven
25 to 30 minutes or until
crumbs are brown and fish
flakes easily.

to help look for a Catholic
priest from Baker missing for
nearly three weeks.
Authorities here said the
Rev. Francis L. McDonald
left Sept. 10 from Baker for
the Mt. Angel rectory near
here.
He did not show up at Mt,
Angel and failed to return to
Baker by Sept. 21 as sched
uled, according to the report.

A Good Egg Not Hard
To Find or to Cook
Nowadays fresh, top grade
eggs are not at all hard to
find, In fact It borders on the
impossible, thanks to the con
tinuing improvement of re
frigerated transportation and
proper storage both at the
food markets and in the home.
Once you get them home, re
member that eggs like the
coldest place In the refriger
ator, and keep them covered
to avoid having odors of other
foods permeate their delicate
flavor.
A good egg for the break
fast table should be strictly
fresh top grade. A good egg
for cooking in such things as
meat loaves, custards and the
like, however, is a medium or
smaller egg and need not be
the very top grade. A good
egg for baking, especially in
cakes, is a large egg which
will weigh about 2 ounces.
Egg Boating Notts
If you're going to separate
yolks from whites, the sooner
the better after removing
from the refrigerator. If
whites are to be stiffly beaten,
hold at room temperature for
a while for highest, lightest
results. Eggs for baking pur
poses should also be restored
to room temperature.
Eggs Can Got Tough
Eggs will get tough if you
make It too hot for them.
Simmer, don't boil. Fry gent
ly, don't frizzle. Bake slow
ly, don't broil. And the
double boiler saves toll and
trouble when cooking egg
mixtures on top of the stove.
Soft-Cooked Eggs. If eggs
are at room temperature,
place them in boiling water,
cover and set in warm place
off the heat from six to eight
minutes, depending on con
sistency desired. If eggs are
fresh from refrigerator, start
with cold water, being sure
water is at least one-fourth
inch over top of eggs. Heat
gradually to simmering; re
move from heat and hold two
to five minutes depending on
consistency desired. Do not
boll.
Hard-Cooked Eggs. Same as
soft -cooked eggs except that
eggs are held In the water 15
to 20 minutes dependent on
