Miss Phyllis Karen Wat
kins, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Francis L. Watkins,
Wasco, Ore., became the
bride of Delbert Leon Har
vey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mer
lyn Harvey, 613 South New
ton avenue, Medford, in a
ceremony held September 4
at The Dalles First Methodist
church.
The Rev. Larry Eddinga,
Wasco, officiated at the dou
ble ring rites held at 2 o'clock
in the afternoon. The wed
ding was held on the 22nd
wedding anniversary of the
bride's parents.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a
gown of silk mist taffeta. The
scalloped neckline and long
sleeves were trimmed with
Swiss guipure lace embrold
cred with sequins and rhine
stones. The full floor length
skirt had inset panels of
lace. Her veil of illusion fell
from a seed pearl and rliine-
storie crown. She carried a
cascade bouquet of feathered
carnations, stephanotis and
white roses.
The bride carried an heir
loom handkerchief that was
first carried, by her matern
al great grandmother, Andrea
Rasch, when married July
15, 1887 in Bornholm, Den
mark. It was also carried by
the bride's grandmother and
her mother.
Maid of honor was Miss
Shirley Watkins, sister of the
bride. Her dress was of blue
taffeta. She wore matching
accessories and blue head
piece and carried a cascade
bouquet of white glamcllas
encircling white roses.
Miss Beneva Badcr, Port
land, was bridesmaid and the
junior bridesmaid was Miss
Sandra Foss, Wasco, cousin
of the bride. Both girls wore
blue taffeta frocks and car
ried crescent bouquets of
white chrysanthemums.
Gene Harvey, brother of
the bridegroom, served as
best man. Groomsmen were
Robert Jones, Myrtle Creek
and John Connolly, Medford
Ushers were Don Wilson,
Medford; Orvllle Blaylock,
Grass Valley; Lee Kaseberg
T e r r y Kaseberg, Michael
Foss, all cousins of the bride,
and Robert Hastings, Wasco
Candlellghters were Mrs.
Sherry Jacques Sullivan,
Alpha Omicron PI sororit:1
sister of the bride, and Miss
Gwen Merrifleld, both Port
land, They wore white sheath
dresses.
Miss Sandra Reed, Port
land sorority sister of the
bride, was soloist.
The church was decorated
with white gladioli, chrysan
themums, and roses.
Mrs. Watkins wore a
sheath dress of pale almond
color with matching acces
sories. Her brasso orchid cor
sage wbs in shades of gold.
Mrs.. Harvey s frock was of
beige lace with neutral ac
cessories and she wore a
corsage of cyprlpcdlum or
chids in green and white.
A reception in the fellow
ship hall of the church fol
lowed the ceremony. Cutting
and serving the wedding cake
were Mrs. John Foss, Wasco,
the bride's aunt, and Mrs.
Hazel Simpson, Portland, her
great aunt. Presiding at the
lea and coffee service were
Mrs. Paulen Kaseberg, cous
in of the bride, and Mrs. Mel
vin Walsh, Los Angeles, Calif,
Mrs. Leonard Fields and
Miss Alice Kaseberg, Wasco
cousin of the bride, served
the punch.
Assisting with the recep
tion were Miss B a r b a r
Brooks, Portland, sorority
sister of the bride; Mrs. Larry
Kaseberg, Wasco, Miss Syl
via Baker and Miss Gwen
Kirkland, Medford. Miss
Sharon Roberts, Medford
played the accordion during
the reception.
Mrs. Sally Fields Brown,
The Dalles, was in charge of
the guest book.
The bride is a graduate of
Sherman High school, North
western School of Commerce
Portland, and attended Ore
gon State college two years
She is a member of A 1 p h a
Omicron Pi sorority and
Annie Fulton chapter, Order
of Eastern Star. She was em
ployed at the Sherman Co
operative Grain Growers as
sociation this past summer
Mr. Harvey was graduated
from Medford High school
and Modern Barber school
Portland. He is a member of
Order of the Arrow, De Mo
lay, Southern Oregon Timing
association, and the Mediord
Accordion club. He is em
ployed at Dave's Ye Olde
Barber shop, Medford. The
couple will make their home
here following a honeymoon
trip.

wore a charcoal colored suit
with black and white acces
sorles. Her corsage was of
phenopsis orchids.

kins and Mrs. Ethel Strong

groom's maternal grand
mother, Mrs. Nettie McKen-
zie, Bieber, Calif.

Announced Here
Of interest to Medford and
Ashland residents is the wed
ding September 1 in Fair
banks, Alaska, of Alma Cook
formerly of Cedarvllle, Calif.
and Max C. Desavedo, long
time rancher and owner ol
the Box D ranch in the Green
Springs area.
The wedding was held in
the First Methodist church in
Fairbanks. The bride wore
blue lace frock In afternoon
length with matching accesso
ries. Her corsage was a pink
Cymbidlum orchid.
The couple plan to return
to Medford In the late spring
and will divide their time be
tween their home on Oregon
terrace In Medford and the
Box D ranch.
Mrs. Desavedo, who is do
ing advanced work in journal
ism, will attend the University
of Fairbanks while Mr. De
savedo is employed by the
U. S. government at Ladd
Field.
Mr. Desavedo Is the son of
Mrs. Rose Desavedo, who is
making her home with her
son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Vern E. Rose, 3380

ces Helen Palmer and Cecil
C. Clifton.
The bride is a daughter of
the Rev. and Mrs. Franklin
Palmer, 583 Normal avenue,
Ashland. The bridegroom's
mother is Mrs. Charles Clif
ton, Garfield, Ark.
The bride's father officiated
at the 7 o'clock evening wed
ding and gave his daughter in
marriage.
The bride wore a white em
broidered taffeta frock. Her
veil of illusion was held by a
net band and she carried a
white Bible with pink rose
buds and stephanotis.
Miss Ann Palmer was hon
or attendant for her sister and
Mrs. Richard Bratcher was
bridesmatron. They wore cot
ton satin frocks of orcnia ana
blue.
Gene Allen served as best
man and Richjrd Bratcher
was groomsman. Ronald
Acuff seated the guests.
Mrs. Clifton Ferrel sang
two selections and was accom
panied by Mrs. Jean Cruse
and Mrs. Gene Allen, sister of
the bride.
Mrs. Palmer wore a pink
cotton satin dress for her
daughter's wedding. Her cor
sage was of white carnations.
Mrs. Ronald Acuff, sister of
the bride, was in charge of
the reception which followed.
Mrs. Dean Wilson served the
wedding cake she had baked
and decorated. Miss Mary Du
by was in charge of the guest
book.
The couple traveled to Cra
ter Lake on their wedding
trip, the bride wearing for
traveling a two piece dress.
Her corsage was of rosebuds.
The bride is a graduate of
Ashland High school. The
bridegroom is employed by
the Happy Camp Lumber Mill,
Happy Camp, Calif., where
they will make their home.
