pamphlets.

broiled grapefruit, chocolate
butter cookies and angel pie.

Ban on Cattle

has partially lifted a ban on
importation of cattle from
scabies-infected areas of Ore
gon end Idaho.
Director William E. Warne
said Tuesday that breeding
and feeder cattle from four
counties In-Oregon and in
northern Idaho would no long
er have to be dipped for sea.

The restrictions affect
Grant, Malheur, Union and
Wallowa counties In Oregon,
and a section ot Idaho north
of the Salmon river and from
a line from North Fork east
to the Montana state line. The
restrictions remain In effect
for the rest of Idaho.
Removal of the restrictions
allows cattle to enter Call
fornia with only a health cer
tificate. Scabies, a disease
caused by mites, broke out
last winter In Northwestern
cattle areas. It has not. been
found In California.

Coquille - IUPD - Paul Court-
er Holland, 33, of Coos Buy,
Wednesday was sentenced to
total of 25 yenrs In the stale
penitentiary on rape and bur
glary charges following his
arrest Tuesday night.
Police said Holland was ar
rested In the clothes closet ot .
North Bend apartment.
He waived preliminary
court actions and pleaded
guilty In Circuit Court here
Wednesday. He received a
20-year sentence for rape In
connection with an Aug. 8 at
tack on a North Bend woman
and a 5-year sentence for burglary.
Police said loot from sever
al burglaries was found in a
garage. They also said he had
admitted other attacks on
women in the Coos Bay-North
Bend-Empire area dating back
to May of 1938. Officers said
they had been watching him
since Aug. 17.

governor's car.
Kennedy had the use ot
Gov. Mark Hatfield's official
state car Wednesday afternoon
in a campaign hop from Salem
to Portland after Kennedy
made an appearance at the
State Fair.
Hatfield didn't hand out the
Invitation, however. Kennedy
was hosted by acting Gov.
Walter Pearson, a Democrat.
Hatfield Is on a trip to Wash
ington, D. C. . ;
