Episcopal Ceremony PFeds Couple
St. Mark's Episcopal church
was the scene of the wedding
Saturday. August 20, of Miss
Delia Norma Robinson, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon J.
Robinson, 1917 East Main
street, to Kenneth Santiago,
North Highlands, Calif. He is
llio son of Mr. and Mrs. John
Santiago, 3929 Fargo way,
North Highlands.
The double-ring wedding
service was performed at four
o'clock in the afternoon by
the Rev. George V. Bolster. A
small number of friends and
relatives attended.
The bride's sisters, Mrs. T.
G. Karrick Jr., Forest Grove,
and Mrs. Dwight V. Sullivan
were her attendants. John
and Wilfred Santiago, broth
ers of the bridegroom, were
groomsmen and Theron G.
Karrick. Jr., Forest Grove,
seated guests.
Mr. Robinson gave his
daughter in marriage. She
wore a ballerina-length gown
of white nylon organza over
taffeta, styled with very full
skirt, edged in lace, and a
fitted lace bodice with short
sleeves and a scalloped Sa
brina neckline. She carried a
bouquet of white baby roses
with stephanotis.
Her finger-tip-length veil
had been worn by her sisters
at their weddings. It was held
by a crown of seed pearls.
The bride's attendants wore
sheaths of light blue-brocaded
cotton with cap sleeves and
Sabrina neckline. They also
wore blue whimsy veils with
blue daisies and carried bou
quets of white carnations.
Arrangements of gladioli,
white chrysanthemums and
candelabra provided a back
ground for the ceremony. Mrs.
Ernest Conrad was at the or
gan. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson were
hosts for a buffet supper and
reception following the wed
ding. Miss Karen Paschke
served the cake; Mrs. Lyman
Robinson poured coffee, and
ten-year-old Winona Santiago,
sister of the bridegroom, took
charge of the guestbook. Three
other young sisters of the
bridegroom assisted in the
rooms.
Those traveling from out of
town for the event, in addition
to the bridegroom's family, in
cluded Lt. and Mrs. John Ker
shaw and two children, Mr.
and Mrs. William Kanaske
and M. Davenport, all of
North Highlands, and Miss
Judy Chastain, Portland.
The bride attended Medford
High school and Pacific uni
versity. The bridegroom at
tended Waipahu High school
in Hawaii and Pacific univer
sity. They will make their
home in North Highlands fol
lowing a wedding trip to Lake
Tahoc.

became the bride of Donald
Wayne Bowling, son of Mr.
and Mrs. J. W. Bowling, 802
Grant street, in a ceremony
August 20 at St. Peter's Lu
theran church.
Baskets of yellow and white
gladioli decorated the altar
for the service, which was
read by the Rev. John E.
Simon at 7 o'clock in the eve
ning. One hundred guests
attended.
The bride wore a white
full-length gown of net over
taffeta with long sleeves and
a Sabrina neckline. Appliqued
flowers decorated the neck
line, sleeve points and skirt.
She carried a cascade bouquet
of white gladioli. Mr. Barker
gave his daughter in marriage.
Miss Joyce Smith was maid
of honor. Miss Patricia!
Richey, Talent, cousin of the
bridegroom, and Miss Marilyn
Barker, Klamath Falls, the
bride's cousin, were brides
maids. The attendants wore
ballerina-length gowns of yel
low chiffon over taffeta with
satin bands at the waist and
neckline. White satin bands
held their veils.
The maid of honor carried
a cascade bouquet of yellow
gladioli and the bridesmaids
carried nosegays of while car
nations. Billy Gene Bowling was best
man for his brother. Jack T.
Walker II, David A. Elrod,
Clark L. Barker, the bride's
brother, and Jerry Jordan,
cousin of the bridegroom,
were ushers. Mrs. Richard
Smith played the organ.
The bride's mother wore a
two-piece dress of wheat color,
with bone-white accessories
and a corsage of white gladi
oli. The bridegroom's mother
wore a blue sheath dress with
white accessories and white
gladioli.
A reception followed in
Girls Community club. Bas
kets of yellow and white
gladioli decorated the hall.
Mrs. Evan Petty, Grants Pass,
aunt of the bride, cut the cake,
which had been decorated by
Mrs. Earl Smith. Mrs. Everett
Barker, Klamath Falls, poured
coffee and Mrs. Paul Phelps
and Mrs. Oak Barker, both of
Klamath Falls, poured punch.
Mrs. Shirley Jones and Mrs.
Lester Lingsheit, Kcno, were
in charge of the gift table,
while Mrs. Jack T. Walker II
was in charge of the guest
book.
The bride was graduated
from Medford High school in
I960 and the bridegroom is a
1958 graduate of the school.
He attended Southern Oregon
college and is now an appren
tice carpenter with M. j. Jor
dan, contractor. The newly
weds traveled to the Califor
nia coast on their honeymoon,
the bride wearing for travel a
turquoise sheath with white
accessories. They are making
their home at 525 West Tenth
street, apartment 4.
A rehearsal dinner for the
wedding party was given Au
gust 19 at the M. J. Jordan
home. Mrs. Jordan, aunt of the
bridegroom, and her daugh
ter, Mrs. Jack T. Walker II.
were hostesses.

Medford League Planning
Election Year Activities
"Since this is an important
election year, the program
and work of the League of
Women Voters will be more
exciting and interesting than
usual." according to Mrs. Dun
bar Carpenter, Medford
League president.
Plans for the coming year's
work will be outlined and dis
cussed at a picnic luncheon,
the year's first meeting, Wed
nesday, August 31.
New and prospective mem
bers and guests are especially
invited to attend this event,
which will be held at the
home of Mrs. Harry Daniel
son, 2316 Siskiyou boulevard.
Programs of study and action
in the areas of local, state
and national government will
be presented and opportuni
ties for participation in pro
grams throughout the year
will be presented.
League officers stress that
there is "something for every
one to do that will fit in with
her own interests and back
ground." Luncheon will be served at
12:30 p.m. with an informal
meeting at 1,30 o'clock, fol
lowed by bridge and swim
ming and a get-acquainted
hour.

Talent - Mr. and Mrs. Leroy
Tompkins, Foss road, Talent,
have made known plans for
the coming wedding of their
daughter, Phyllis Marie, to
Donald Ray Nelson. Mr. Nel
son is a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Guy Nelson, 1289 Woodrow
lane, Medford.
The couple plans to be mar
ried in September.
The bride-elect is a grad
uate of Medford High school
and attended Southern Oregon

Champagne Luncheon
The annual champagne
luncheon, held each year dur
ing the Southern Oregon Golf
Championship tournament,
has been scheduled for Friday,
September 2, at 12:30 p.m. at
Rogue Valley Country club.
This will be the 32nd tournament.
All women contestants of
the tournament and wives of
out-of-town contestants will
be honored guests of the
Rogue Valley Women's Golf
association at the event.
Those in charge report that
there will be no play for wo
men on Friday and local mem
bers will have an opportunity
to become acquainted with the
guests.
Local social members of the
country club who wish to at
tend are asked to make reser
vations before noon Thurs
day, Sept. 1.
Due to the tournament, reg
ular weekly play for local
Lady Golfers will not be held
September 1.
