Church Ceremony Marries Couple
Eagle Point - Miss Sharon

and Mrs. Jack K. James, Long
Mountain road, Eagle Point,
became the bride of Donald
Eugene Wisely, son of Mr.
and Mrs. John Wisely, 97
Bigham lane, Central Point,
at a ceremony August 20 in
the First Presbyterian church.
Dr. D. Kirkland West, minis
ter at the First Presbyterian
church, Medford, read the
double ring service.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her father. Her
white silk organza gown of
original design was fashioned
with sweetheart neckline,
three-quarter length sleeves
and a full skirt with a bustle
forming a chapel-length train.
Her veil was finger-tip length
and she carried a bouquet of
white carnations and orchids.
Mrs. Richard Swinncy, Med
ford, was matron of honor
and bridesmaids were Miss
Esther Smith and Miss Donna
Shore, Medford. Miss Nyla
Murray and Miss Marianne
Samuelson, Medford, sorority
sisters of the bride, were can
dle-lighters. The attendants'
gowns of light and dark pink
silk organza over matching
pink taffeta, were sheath-
style with bolero jackets.
They wore rose satin shoes
and white gloves, and carried
cascade bouquets of white
gladioli.
The candle - lighters wore
sky-blue silk organza gowns
over matching blue taffeta,
fashioned with full skirts.

the ushers were Cecil Owings
and Jerry Perkins, both of
Medford. Dennis R. James
and John K. James, the bride's
brothers, also assisted at the
wedding.

the newly-wedded young man and his bride, war left on

Service League To Hold
Brunch And Bridge Party

cial season with a brunch and
bridge party at Mon Desir
Monday, September 19. A
.style show featuring the latest
'in fall and winter fashions,
will be held during the
brunch and eight valley stores
are loaning clothing to be
modeled by league members.
The party will be in the
Italian mood, with decor,
music and prizes designed to
give the guests the feeling
that they are on a visit to
Italy. Bridge prizes, other
prizes, and a special prize,
whose origin will be disclosed
later, are products of Italy.
Mrs. Jonathan Middleton
and Mrs. Donald Wood are
co-chairmen, and they urge
valley women to make their
reservations early. The Italian
Interlude party will be held
on one day only, and will be
limited to 200 guests. Reser

Honored
Mr. and Mrs. Keith M. Gil
desgard were honored at a re
ception Sunday, August 14, at
the home of the bride's par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Nelson, Eagle Point.
Mrs. Gildcsgard is the for
mer Lois Nelson, and her wed
ding to Mr. Gildesgard took
place In St. Luke's Lutheran
church in Reno, Nev., July
25. For her wedding the bride
wore a cocoa brown silk
sheath with beige accessories
and corsage of yellow spider
chrysanthemums.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Han
Ron, Medford, attended the
couple. The newlyweds travel
ed to San Francisco and other
coastal points on their wed
ding trip, and are living at
281 Lozier lane, Medford.
About 25 relatives and
friends attended the recep
tion. The wedding cake was
bilked by Mrs. Howard Veach.
The refreshment table was
decorated with yellow and
white gladioli.
Mrs. Harvey Nelson and
Mrs. Harvey Nelson Jr. cut
and served the wedding cake.
Mrs. Russell Smith poured.
Mrs. Harold Kingcry took
charge of the guest book.
The bride is employed In
the credit department of j
Montgomery Ward and com
pany in Medford. The bride
groom is a Medford policeman.

Given Degrees;
Wedding Today
Two students from Med
ford, Miss Rose Marie Bcltz
and Mrs. Donald Webb (nee
Kay Thompson), received
bachelor of science degrees
in nursing August 19 and 20
at Walla Walla college. Wash.
Miss Bellz is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. George Beltz,
1110 Niantic street. She is
to be married today to John
Louis Hayden. Mr. Hayden,
formerly of Lima, Peru, was
recently discharged from the
Army.
Mrs. Webb is a daughter
of Mrs. Vyrbelle Thompson,
Plaza apartments, and Dr.
Bernard Thompson, 26 Crater
Lake avenue. j
Both young women are to
take state board examinations
in Portland Sept. 7 and 8 to
qualify as registered nurses.
Parents of the two students
were in College Place, Wash.,
for the graduation exercises.

blue linen sheath with white
accessories and a white linen
hat. Her corsage was of pale
pink rosebuds. Mrs. Wisely
-wore a pink linen sheath with
white accessories and white
rosebud corsag.
The reception was held at
the home of the bride's par
ents on the Rogue river. The
bride's table was lighted by
tall pink tapers in silver can
delabra and the rooms and the
patio were decorated with
white wedding bells and bas
kets of pink and white glad
ioli. Tables in the garden
were centered with small
wedding bells on pink cloths.
The wedding cake, made by
the bridegroom's mother, was
cut with a knife loaned by
Mrs. James A. Grigsby.
Mrs. W. A. Graff and Mrs.
Fred Greene poured coffee
and Mrs. Mahr Reymers cut
the wedding cake. Mrs. Bert
Wright and Mrs. Robert E.
Prentice presided at the punch
bowls. Assisting were Mrs.
Earl Lininger, Mrs. Harry
Jewett and Mrs. Jack Mil-
hoan. Mrs. Peter Johnston,
sister of the bridegroom, took
charge of the guest book and
Miss Nancy Lininger, the gifts.
Out of town guests were
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wisely,
Portland, brother and sister-in-law
of the bridegroom and
their daughter, Jaunice; Mr.
and Mrs. Melville Plass, La
Grande, uncle and aunt of the
bridegroom; Mr. and Mrs.
A. M. Perkins, Roseburg; Mrs.
Minnie White, great-aunt of
the bridegroom. Chester D.

To Liv in Idaho
The newlyweds ar spend
ing their honeymoon at Lake
of the Woods before leaving
for Pocatello, Ida., where the
bridegroom will complete his
course of study in pharmacy
at Idaho State college. For
traveling the bride wore a
navy blue sheer sheath with
white accessories and the or
chid from her bridal bouquet.
The bride is a graduate of
Phoenix High school and Ore
gon State college where she
was affiliated with Delta Del
Delta sorority. She has accept
ed a teaching position at Ains
worth Elementary school in
Pocatella. The bridegroom is
a graduate of Crater High
school and is a member of Phi
Delta Chi fraternity.
The evening before the
ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Lininger were hosts to the
bridal party at their new
home on Skycrest drive, Ash
land. Prior to her wedding the
bride was honored at two
showers. Mrs. Earl Lininger
and Mrs. Richard Alley en
tertained at a shower at the
home of Mrs. Alley on Green
way circle, Medford. Miss Es
ther Smith and Mrs. Mahr
Reymers were hostesses at a
surprise shower at the home of
the b r i d e's parents on the
Rogue river.

Hawley and James Groat
were married in Reno, Nev.,
August 7.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rus
sell took the couple to Reno
in their plane, and attended
the couple for the wedding
ceremony.

and Phillip, were in Klamath
Falls Friday for the wedding
of the Trustys' son, William
to Cherrill Louise Stafford
Klamath Falls.

Trusty, Elk Creek-Trail, and
the Rev. and Mrs. James Gor
don of Mt. Pitt Church of the
Nazarene.
The newlyweds plan to
make their home in Nampa
Idaho, where they will attend
Northwest Nazarene college.

ing with Airman Covey's par
ent's, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Covey,
Prospect. The airman ia on
leave from Nashville, Tenn.,
and the travelers are en route
to Fairbanks, Alaska, where
he has. been transferred by the
Air Force.
