Devers to Arnold Joseph
widmer Saturday, August 13
The wedding rites and nup
tial mass were celebrated at
10 o'clock in the morning by
the Rev. John Ilg.
The bride Is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Devers,
1825 Oregon terrace, and the
bridegroom is a son of Mr.1
and Mrs. Xavier Widmer,
Barnett road.
The bride wore an ivory
satin gown fashioned with
cathedral train. Her French
illusion veil fell from a satin
coronet trimmed with pearls
and she carried a shower of
stephanotis and white roses
centered with a white or
chid..
Maid-of-honor was Miss
Bobby Jean Brltt and the
Fashionette

organza and carried bouquets
of yellow-centered daisies and
yellow roses. AH three at
tendants wore crowns of yel
low tulle trimmed with iri
descent beads and short illu
sion veils. .
Mr. Devers escorted his1
daughter to. the church al
tar and Patrick Dugan was
best man for Mr. Widmer.
Seating the guests were Tim
othy Dugan and James Val
entine. Patrick and Michael
Naumes served as acolytes.
For the wedding and the
reception which followed at
the Devers home, the bride's
mother wore a sheath of ice
blue brocaded satin with
rhinestone trim, and match
ing hat of blue flowers. The
bridegroom's mother wore a
dress of sheer blue embroider
ed cotton and pink accessor
ies. Their corsages were white
orchids.
Yellow flowers decorated
the church for the ceremony,
and the Devers home for the
reception.
Mrs. S. Ralph Dippel and
Mrs. Eugene DeVoe presided
at the punch bowls. Mrs. John
Laden and Mrs. Frances Flinn
poured coffee and Mrs. Fred
Brcnnan cut the wedding
cake. Assisting were Mrs.
Robert Naumes, Mrs. Marjory
Olds, Mrs. Ronald McKenna
and Mrs. Donald McClintock.
Miss Jane Killingsworth took
charge of the guest book and
Miss Rose Widmer, the gifts.
Anita and Linda Jarmin
passed rice and the bride
groom's cake.
The cake was cut with a
knife loaned by Mrs. John
Lynch.
The' ncwlyweds are travel
ing to Victoria and Vancou
ver, B. C, on their wedding
trip. The bride's traveling at
tire was a navy blue and
white suit and white acces
sories. The bride is a graduate of
Mcdford High school and
Southern Oregon college and
is a member of the teaching
staff of Jacksonville school.
The bridegroom is a graduate
of St. Mary's High school and
Is a student at Southern Ore
gon college. He is employed
at Timber Products. The Wid
mors will live at 411 West
Twelfth street.
Among the wedding guests
were Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Melrose McClintock, P o r t
land, uncle and aunt of the
bride.
Couple Returns
From Honeymoon
Happy Camp-Mr. and. Mrs.
George Holly have returned
to Happy Camp from a honey
moon in the High Sierras,
through the Feather River
country and Lassen park.
They were married at
Sparks. Nov., August 10, In
the First Methodist church by
the Rev. John Hamilton whose
father was formerly pastor at
Happy Camp Methodist
church.
Mr. Holly is a partner in
the Happy Camp cafe.

gust 12. The dance, in honor
of Miss Janice Hall, who Is

Miss Crawford is a gradu
ate of Bonanza High school
and her fiance was graduated
from Butte Falls High school.
Both young people will be
juniors at Southern Oregon
college this fall.

Artist, Wife
City Visitors
Arthur Beaumont, former
naval commander, artist, ad
venturer and past-president of
the Long Beach Art associa
tion, was a visitor in Med
ford last Sunday and again
Friday. Accompanied by his
wife, the distinguished artist
fulfilled a commission to
paint a new-type U.S. Naval
light, cruiser at the Bremer
ton, Wash. base.
Mr. Beaumont, whose edu
cation in art included leading
academies in this country,
England, Belgium and France,
(s considered one of Ameri
ca's leading watercolorists.
His travels with the Navy
have covered both poles and
almost every port in the
world. Recently he accom
panied a historic U.S. Navy
National Science Foundation
expedition to the- unknown
Bellingshausen Sea in the
Antarctic on the Naval ice
breaker, Glacier.
While In this city the Beau
monts were guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Herb Grey, 42 South
Barneburg road.
McNairs Return
After Vacation
Dr. and Mrs. Raymond Mc
Nair and three sons, 229-Valley
View drive, have returned
from a vacation spent at the
Shlndler cabins, Agness, Ore.
The vacation spot is located
about 20 miles up the Rogue
river from Gold Beach, and
is reached only by boat.
