Medford people will have
a choice of five television
station signals on the com
munity antenna system being
installed by Jackson Cable,
according to Everett Faber,
vice president of the Oregon
Broadcasting company.
Installation of microwave
and "headend" facilities for
the cable television system
was completed Thursday at
the Medford hotel, Faber said.
This will link the already fin
ished installations on four
mountain tops north of Med
ford with the distribution
system in Medford.
The distribution area will
initially stretch from Colum
bus ave. on West Main st. to
the intersection of Valley
View dr. and Hillcrest rd.,
Faber noted. i
Faber said that stockhold
ers of the Oregon Broadcast
ing company were told by its
officers at a recent meeting
that the three signals origi
nally intended for the system
will be followed by two more
as soon as the additional nec
essary equipment can be in
stalled. Stations involved in
the five signals are located in
Medford, Klamath Falls, Rose-
burg, Eugene, Corvalhs, and
Portland. The same signals
will be available on antenna
systems in Ashland and
Grants Pass.
Already signals are being
fed to the receiving point for
Medford in the Medford ho
tel, Faber said.
While the microwave equip
ment was being installed, con
tractors were hanging the
messenger cable through the
initial distribution area in
Medford, Faber noted. This
portion of the project, the last
remaining before individual
home service connections are
made, is expected to be com
pleted in the near future, ac
cording to Faber. .
