Mind-Reading Trick

In advance, select a friend to work with you on this trick..
Pick out a bookshelf having four shelves or a chest with four
drawers. Name the drawers or shelves with your helper
starting from the top down as Ready, Already, All Right,
and Come On.
Now, to do the trick: your friend asks one of the boys
or girls present to select a shelf and then calls out to you in
the next room, "Ready" (if top shelf), or "Already" (if sec
ond shelf), etc. You appear to concentrate and then "read"
your friend's mind by correctly identifying the shelf or
drawer, as the case may be.
Shake-Cup

Take a clean, empty ice-cream cup, put rattlers, buttons,
or beans inside, and fasten on the lid with sticky tape. Now
you have a rhythm shaker or rattle!
Guessing Gum

Here's a good game to play, and you won't need a prize
because each person gets one a stick of gum!
Buy several packages of chewing gum as many different
flavors as possible. Put one stick for each player into a bag.
Players form a circle. Hand the bag to one player, who
begins by naming a gum flavor out loud spearmint, for in
stanceand then takes out a stick without peeking. If. it's
not the right flavor, the stick goes back into the bag and the
turn is lost. The first player who draws the gum he names
must turn to his partner and chew it without giggling (no
matter what the other player does) for one minute. If he
succeeds, he stays in the game. If not, he's out.
Wild Spaceship
