The oldest
Volkswagen
in America.
Found on a farm in Emerson, Nebraska: the oldest
Volkswagen in America. Model year: 1945. Still
working every day for its owner, Harold Kuhn, it
offers proof that a Volkswagen may grow old, but
never obsolete.
The oldest Volkswagen in America was driven
1,500 miles to VW headquarters in New Jersey.
Averaged 22 mpg on the way. There, it was placed
side by side with the newest Volkswagen in America
(the 500,000th to come over).
You can't see too many differences in . the two

dows, heftier bumpers, new chrome strips end hub
caps, different turn indicators. Otherwise, you might
mistake the oldest Volkswagen for the newest.
If you took both cars apart, though, you'd find
that almost every part has changed since '45. (Most
new parts fit any older model.l Volkswagen keeps
finding new ways to improve the VW to make it
last even longer. Yet not one change in 15 years
has made a Volkswagen obsolete. Volkswagens de
preciate less than any other car.
Come in and see us for a new Volkswagen today.
You'll be making a good long-term Investment.

Dodgers Roll
To 6-1 Win
Over Giants
San Franelsco-'UPD-Big Stan
Williams rolled to his ninth
win of the season Saturday by
pitching the Los Angeles
Dodgers to a 6-1 victory over
tho deflated Son Francisco
Giants.
The third place Dodacrs
completely outhuslled San
Francisco while taking their
eighth decision in the last 10
starts. Four errors were tossed
into the pot by San Francisco
and two of these miscues led
to scores.
Jack Sanford. who sustain-
ed his seventh defeat and was
taken out for a pinchhitter
after five innings, helped
wreck himself by committing
a balk which brought home
Charlie Neal with a tally in
the second.
The 6 foot 5 inch, 230 pound
Willianv., who now has a 9-2
record, struck out seven and
gave up only one pass while
mastering the Giants for the
third time this season. Earlier
this year he turned them back
with a two-hitter and a three-hitter.
This time they got to him
for nine hits, but some fine
fielding held them to only one
run. In the fourth inning
shortstop Maury Wells grab
bed Willie Kirkland's wind
blown double in short left
field and threw out Orlando
Cepcda who was trying to
score from second.
Two frames earlier Wil-
liums deflected a hard smash
by Ed Bressoud with' men on
first and second. And second
baseman Neal crawled after
the ball to retrieve it in time
to force Hobie Landrith at
second base for the third out.
A throwing error by first
baseman Willie McCovcy,
John Roscboro's double and
Sanford's balk accounted for
the two unearned runs in the
second. Duke Snider had
walked with one out and was
safe at second when Mc-
Covcy'a throw to Ed Bressoud
oh" on-' attempted force play
pulled the San Francisco
shortstop off the bag. Neal
was safe at first on the same
play.
