and the bridegroom is a son
of Mr. and Mrs. Edward V
Nelson, 775 Walker avenue,
Ashland.
The Rev. John Power, vicar
of the Church of the Good
Shepherd, Prospect, officiated.
White gladioli and Ester Reed
daisies provided a setting for
the double - ring ceremony.
Only members of the family
attended.
Miss Edna Daugherty, or
ganist, played traditional wed
ding music.
The bride, given in marri
age by her father, wore a
street-length dress of white
Chantilly lace and a veil of
illusion. She carried a bou
quet of sweetheart roses and

Mrs. John Axtell, Medford,
Sister of the bride, was ma
tron of honor. She wore a
Kile green afternoon dress
and a white carnation corsage.

was best man. Scott W. Petei

A reception followed at the
home of the bride, 614 South

The newlyweds traveled to
the coast for their honeymoon
and are at home at 530 South
Grape street. For traveling
the bride wore a black sheath
dress with black accessories.
The bride is a graduate of
Medford High school and the
bridegroom was graduated
from Ashland High school
Both are students at Southern
Oregon college. The bride
groom is employed by Holiday
House, Inc.
Mrs. E. W. Nelson, Ashland,
was hostess for a luncheon for
the wedding party following
the rehearsal. Mrs. Glenn Nel
son, Ashland, and Mrs. Ran
ald Axtell, Trail, were hos
tesses at a bridal shower for
the bride at the Nelson home
July 7.

the setting Tuesday, July 5,
when Miss Sharon Gayle
Hastetter, Santa Maria, Calif.,
became the bride of William
Jemlson Scott, former Gold
Hill man who was on leave
from his duties on the USS
Shields with the U. S. Navy
The Rev. O. L. Kendal, pastor
of the church, officiated at
the four o'clock afternoon
ceremony attended by 22 rela
tives and close friends of the
couple.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Arlon Hastetter,
Santa Maria, Calif. The bride
groom is a son of Mr. and
Mrs. D. L. Davis, Gold Hill
The bride wore a gown of
white nylon lace over white
taffeta, designed with three
quarter sleeves, slight scoop
neckline and waltz length
skirt. Her fingertip length
veil was of white nylon lace
and she carried a white pray
er book that belonged to the
bridegroom's brother. Master
Larry Davis. She wore a pink
and white carnation corsage
and a small gold cross neck
lace, a gift from her mother.
Mrs. Richard A. Walker,
Santa Cruz, Calif., sister of
the bridegroom, was matron
of honor. She wore an after
noon frock of red polished
summer cotton. It was design
ed with three quarter length
sleeves and waltz length skirt.
Her accessories were white
and her corsage was pink car
nations. James Netzel, Gold Hill,
former school friend of the
bridegroom, served as best
man.
Following the wedding cere
mony, a reception was given
at the home of the bride
groom's grandmother. Mrs.
Iva Lentz, Gold Hill, attended
by 26 relatives and friends.
Mrs. Richard A. Walker cut
the tiered wedding cake,
which was made by Mrs.
Keith Krieger, cousin of the
bridegroom's mother from
Palo Alto. Calif. Mrs. Helen
Shoemaker and Mrs. D. L.
Davis assisted Mrs, Walker.
Later a wedding supper
was held at Mary's Casa in
Medford, . attended by the
bridal party.
For the occasion the bride
groom's mother wore a two
piece ensemble of floral print
ed polished cotton. The bride
groom s grandmother selected
a dress of turquoise nylon.
The newlyweds left Thurs
day, July 7, for Santa Maria,
Calif., for a short visit with
her parents. She will reside
there temporarily and the
bridegroom will return to his
ship at San Diego, Calif.
The bride attended schools
in Santa Maria. Mr. Scott is
a former student at Crater
High school, Central Point.

at the double ring rites.

The bride wore a ballerina
length Chantilly lace and
tulle frock over taffeta. The
full skirt was accented with
insets of nylon and appli
qued lace and the fitted bod
ice had three-quarter length
sleeves and Sabrina neck
line. Her silk illusion veil
was held by a lace and seed
pearl crown and she carried
a white Bible, a gift from the
bridegroom, with a white or
chid and stephanotis . Mr.
Clark gave his daughter in
marriage.
Miss Nancy Clark was hon
or attendant for her sister
and Miss Ann Baker was
bridesmaid. They wore pink
sheath dresses of Italian vel
vet with matching silk organ

chose a beige brocaded sheath
dress with matching acces
sories. Their corsages were
white gardenias and pink
rosebuds.
Following the ceremony a
reception was held at the
church. Mrs. Leonard Luce,
Everett, Wash., aunt of the
bride, and Mrs. Kevin Craw
ford, Everett, cousin of the
bride, cut and served the tier
ed wedding cake. Miss Helen
Goff and Miss Connie Morris
presided at the punch bowls
and Miss Marva Suit was in
charge of the guest book.
Miss Peggy Gilbert and Miss
Joyce Roclfs were at the gift
table.
The couple traveled to Coos
Bay on their wedding trip,
the bride wearing for travel

are making their home at 307
North Ivy street.
