Marriage
Of Interest
In Valley
Butte Falls-Newj has been
received here of the wedding
in Eugene of Miss Beverly
Jean Rodgers, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth Rodgers,
Eugene, formerly of Butte
Falls, to Robert William
Mintz, Eugene. The ceremony
took place June 4 at Grace
Lutheran cnurch, with the
Rev. W. B. Maier officiating.
The bridegroom's parents
are Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Mintz,
Eugene. The bride's family
left Butte Falls in 1950 after
living in the valley their en
tire lives.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a gown
of white embroidered organ
za. It was styled with a full
hoop skirt, three - quarter
sleeves and a scalloped neck
line. A crown of rolled nylon
trimmed with pearls held her
waist-length veil of illusion
She carried a white Bible
with a white orchid and wore
a pearl-drop necklace, gift of
the bridegroom.
Mrs. Dale Purviance, sister
of the bride, served as matron
of honor. She wore a dress of
pink eyelet nylon with a white
net overskirt.
Miss Dixie Purviance, who
was maid of honor, wore a
gown of blue eyelet nylon
with blue net overskirt. Both
carried bouquets of pink car
nations and blue daisies.
Another sister of the bride,
Miss Kathy Rodgers, lighted
candles. She wore a dress of
deep pink organdy with white
lace trim.
Kenneth Minturn was best
man. Richard and Daryle La
cey served as ushers.

rated the church. Organist
was Mrs. Oliver Hunt and
Gerald Lacey sang.
Mrs. Wesley Brown and
Mrs. Freda Balrd, aunts of
the bridegroom, cut the cake
at the reception which fol
lowed at the church. Mrs. El
mer Geiger poured coffee and
Miss Christina King served
punch. Miss Bonnie White was
in charge of the guest book.
The couple traveled to the
coast for their wedding trip,
the bride wearing a white
eyelet sheath and white acces
sories. They are making their
home at 353 Mary lane, Eu
gene. Relatives of the bride who
traveled to Eugene for the
event included Mrs. Matty
Rodgers, her grandmother.

aunt, both of Medford; Mr.
and Mrs. Jess Rodgers, Butte

July Time Management
Series Subjects Told
The subjects to be covered
In the series of lessons on
time management have been
announced by Mrs. Leona C,
Sheehan, Jackson county
home extension agent.
What is time management
and what is its value?, will be
the first lesson. Others will
be how to minimize fatigue in
house cleaning, how to save
time and energy in kitchen
work, and how to reorganize
work areas with no addition
al cost or remodeling in order
to make everyday jobs easier.
Each lesson in the series
will be complete within it
self, it was announced. The
lessons will be given by Mrs.
Sheehan at the Jackson coun
ty courthouse audit orium
each Tuesday In July, begin
ning July 5 at 8 .m. They will
be repeated at the Civic club
house, Ashland, each Thurs
day in July, beginning July
7 at 1:30 p.m.
"It is felt that the majority
of women may be helped by
these lessons," Mrs. Sheehan
said. "Mothers with young
children and mothers who
hold jobs outside their homes
should be especially benefit
ed. These lessons will be prac
tical helps, not theories," she
added.
All women of the county
are invited to attend. It Is re
quested that everyone register
by calling the Jackson county
home extension office, SPring
3-6211.
Final Meeting
Slated by Club
Scottish Rite Women's club
will meet Monday, June 27
at 8 p.m. at the Masonic hall.
This will be the last social
meeting of the year and all
wives, widows, mothers, sis
ters and daughters of Scot
tish Rite Masons are invited
to attend. The evening will
