Ten timber sale auctions

River National forest.
Southern Oregon Plywood,
Inc., Grants Pass, was high
bidder June 20 for an esti
mated 6,500.000 board feet in
the Knob Hill area of the
Prospect district. The bid was
$167,400, and the advertised
minimum acceptable bid of
102,485.
Steve Cloud, Prospect, was
high bidder for an estimated
4,050,000 board feet of dead
and dying timber in the Up
per Jim creek salvage sale.
High bid was $77,445.
A third sale June 20, the
Bessie Creek salvage sale of
2.000,000 board feet of dead
limber on the Prospect dis
trict, went to John Spcnce at
$.12,212.50. The advertised
price was $27,712.50.
The Pearce Point sale in
Klamath Falls at the district
ranger office June 20 for
6,800,000 board feet of green
timber was awarded to Modoc
Lumber company. Winning
bid was $133,220, compared
to the forest service adver-1
tiscd price of $128,830.
Rogue Basin operators were
successful bidders at two pre
vious sales at Klamath Falls
for timber located cast of the
Cascade summit. Northwest
Timber company, Mcdford,
was high bidder for an esti
mated 8,000.000 board feet in
the Fourmilc creek area. The
(ale price was increased from
$131,720 to $153,735.
The other sale, Ichabod
Springs tract, located between
Lake of the Woods and Brown
mountain went to Ross Lum
ber company at slightly over
the advertised price of $106,-
625.
Ross Lumber company with
it bid of $58,500, compared to I
the advertised price of $57,-
fl70, took the Needle range
sale in the Prospect district.
At the first of three sales
June 21, 1,500,000 board feel
