McMinnville Industrial Pro

construct a 4,000-squarc foot
building on a three-acre site
In the 4B-acre McMinnville in-
dustrial park which the firm
will occupy under long - term
lease. Bids for construction
will be called in a few days.
The new plant will have an
initial employment of 15. It
will make equipment for the
forest producis industry.
Grand Canyon Area
Swept by Flames
Grand Canyon, Ariz. -HJril-
A windswept fire that already
has destroyed more than 4,500
acres of rich timberland on
the north rim of the Grand
Canyon, may be brought
under control today, forest
rangers reported.
The blaze, leaping across
the tree tops driven by winds
of 35 to 40 miles an hour, was
. being fought by 300 men on
six-mile-long front.
The fire fighters were being

The California Processors
and Growers Inc., Oakland,
representing operators, agreed
to Rozzoni's proposal provid
ed the unions give assurance
that the canneries would not
be shut down again without
sufficient notice.
But Arthur Viat, regional
director of the federal media

agreement would defeat prog
ress already made in the dis
pute by conciliators.
Teamsters Union officials
have sought 25-cent hourly
wage increases for cannery
workers, while employers
have stood fast on a 4 per
cent package Increase.

an accident 17 miles east of
here Thursday when the dump
truck he was operating
plunged 300 feet over em
bankment. Peterson was tprrading
gravel on a downgrade on
the side of the road when the

ly collapsed and sent the
truck hurtling down the em
bankment. Peterson was employed by
the Bohemia Lumber Com
pany. He was killed instantly.
