which was attested by about
100 guests. The chapel was
decorated with baskets of
white stock and carnations.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ru

the bridegroom are Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Cohen, Washington.

December 1956.
Miss Horsley returned to
Oregon and has been a social
caseworker with the Jackson
County Public Welfare com
mission since December 1957.
Mr. Gilmore is the son of
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Gilmore,
uoylcstown, Bucks county,
Pa., and William A. Gilmore,
New Bern, N.C. He attended
Pennsylvania State and Mon
tana State universities. He
has been employed with the
U.S. Forest Service, Rogue
Kiver National Forest, in Un
ion Creek and Prospect since
l53.

Teachers Here
To Visit Friends
Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne
Mitchell and their children,
jan and ward, are in Med
ford as guests of Mr. and Mrs.
James Medley, 333 West Jack
son street.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell
are teachers, and they for
merly were on the staff of
the Medford public school sys
tem, with Mr. Mitchell teach
ing at Roosevelt and his wife
at Hedrlck Junior High
school. For the past two years
they have been employed by
the United States Navy, with
Mr. Mitchell serving as ad
ministrator of education for
Salpan and other islands of
that area, and Mrs. Mitchell
as a teacher.
Before going to Saipan. the
Mitchells taught in schools on
Guam. Next year the family
will be in Trinidad.
The Mitchells will be here
about two weeks.
Chapter
Organized
A new chapter of Beta Sig
ma Phi sorority to be known
as Gamma Rho has been or
ganized in the Phoenix-Tal
ent area. Under the sponsor
ship of Alpha Beta chapter of
Medford, members of the
new chapter attended a series
of get-acquainted parties.

place May 17th at Ping's Gar
dens, following a banquet. In-
stalation of officers was held,
with Mrs. Jack Wheeler in
stalled as president. Mrs.

Strong-Twedell Ceremony
Held at Assembly Church
Miss Chloe Sue Twedell be
came the bride of Donald
Paul Strong at an 8 o'clock
ceremony June 4 in the First
Assembly of God church. The
Rev. Robert Cull officiated at
the double-ring ceremony,
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Twedell,
1675 Valley View drive, Ash
land. Mr. Strong'! parents
are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Strong,
805 Waverly avenue.
Baskets of orchid colored
gladioli, white stock and
palms decorated the altar.
About 200 relatives and
friends attended.
The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, wore a
gown of silk organza over taf
feta with a fitted bodice, long
sleeves and a Sabrina neck
line accented with appliques
of Alencon lace. The applique
was repeated across the front
of the full skirt.
A butterfly bustle at the
waistline in back tapered
into a full chapel train. Her
veil was of fingertip length
silk illusion held by a double
queen's crown of Alencon lace
and pearls.
Mrs. George Hiede played
the organ and accompanied
soloists Mrs. Wallace Nylan
der, Gerald Leslie and James
Nilsen.
Mrs. James Nilsen, sister of
the bride, was matron of
honor and wore a ballerina
length dress of purple silk
organza with matching hat
and float veil. Her bouquet
was of orchid colored gladioli
and pink rosebuds.
Bridesmaids were Mrs
Conrad Twedell, the bride's
sister-in-law; Miss Rosalie
Twedell, her cousin: Miss
Bonnie Cox, San Francisco;
and Miss Dorothy Horten.
They wore identical ballerina-
length dresses of nylon or-
ganza of orchid color, with
matching hats and float veils.
They carried orchid colored
gladioli sprays.
The bride's small niece and
nephew, Deborah Twedell
and Jonathan Nilsen, dressed
as miniature bride and bride
groom, also attended the
couple, Jonathan serving as
ring bearer.

was flower girl. Miss Deanne
Strong, sister of the bride
groom, and Miss Lily Myers
lighted candles. They were
dressed in full-skirted balle
rina-length pink organza
gowns.

costume of imported Alencon
lace for her daughter's wed
ding. Her corsage was a white
orchid. The bridegroom's
mother chose a dress of sea
foam green organza worn
with a white orchid corsage.
Mrs. G. F. Coldwell and
Mrs. Ross Twedell, aunts of
the bride, were in charge of
the reception which followed
in the church annex. They
also cut and served the cake.
Mrs. U. C. Keener, the
bride's aunt, and Mrs. Gerald
Leslie poured. Miss Hazel
Hanson took charge of the
guest book.
Among out-of-town guests
were the bridegroom's aunt
and uncle, Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Strong, and family,
Tacoma, Wash.; the Misses
Roslna Atencio, Rebecca Bel
mudes, Gladys and Valina
Enns and Ben Cortez, all of
San Francisco; Miss Ginger
Bond, Anderson, Calif.; and
Miss Renata Rembold, who is
visiting from Switzerland.
The bride chose a white
and aqua flowered print suit
with black accessories for
traveling. She also wore a
gold-throated white orchid.
The young couple traveled
to San Francisco, where they
left by jet airline for a trip
to the Hawaiian Islands.
While there they plan to visit
the Rev. and Mrs. David Paco,
Honolulu, former college
classmates of the bride. On
their return, they will make
their home in San Francisco,
where the bridegroom is a
purchasing agent for Western
Fire Equipment company.
The bride is a graduatt of
Ashland High school and at
tended Bethany Bible college.
The bridegroom is a graduate
of Medford High school and
attended San Francisco City
college and Heald'i Engineer
ing school, San Francisco.
