The new classes in drama and

A change in schedule for
Thursdays has been made.
Both the Spanish class and
the orchestra plan to meet in
the mornings when it is cool
er. The Spanish class will
meet at 9 a.m. and the orches
tra will practice from 10 to
12 noon until further notice.

Extension Advisory commit
tee at a luncheon meeting
last week at the Van Gordon
home.

The W o m a n's Christian
Temperance Union will meet
in the fireplace room of First
Presbyterian church at 2 p.m.
on Thursday, June 16.
The program will include
a story of how the Pima In
dians in Arizona, laboriously
learned how to sing the Halle
lujah Chorus voluntarily.
They have sung it before a
number of groups. The story
will be told by Mrs. William
Chapman who has heard them
sing.
There will be music and
refreshments will be served
by Mrs. Fred Reich and Mrs.
Robert Bridge.

Scouting
Fifteen Brownies of Troop
52 walked through a Fairy
arch June 1 during fly-up
ceremonies to become Girl
Scouts. The event was held
at 4 p.m. at the home of Mrs.
C. Herman, 320 Hillhouse
avenue. Mrs. Herman is the
grandmother of Charlotte
Whalin, troop member.

mothers. Mrs. Milnes then in
troduced the troop leaders for
the next year. They are Mrs.
Myers Jones and Mrs. R. H.
Riechers.
The Brownie and Girl Scout
emblem and fly-up wings dec
orated the cake which was
served. The cake and punch
were served by Mrs. Riechers
and Mrs. Jones.
Guests included families
and friends of the new Scouts.
To remove a white spot
caused by a wet glass on a
mahogany surface, smear the
spot with a thick coat of pe
troleum jelly and allow it to
stand a few days. When the
jelly is removed, the stain will
have disappeared.
