be 8:30 a.m. to noon on Mon
day through Friday. Partici

about the wisdom of President
Eisenhower's visit to the Far
East at this time.
There are almost certain to
be major demonstrations in
Tokyo by Communist-inspired
students. And there are fears
that Communist China might

excuse for major action in
the Formosa Strait.
Most Japanese are believed
lo welcome the Eisenhower
visit. He is assured of a warm
welcome here, in the Philip
pines, in South Korea and
on Formosa. But some Asians
fear the timing is bad.

pines June 14-16, Formosa
June 18, Okinawa June 19
and Japan June 19-22. He
makes an eight-hour visit to
South Korea June 22 and flies
to Honolulu for a rest before
returning to Washington June
26.
The Communists were ex
pected to try to stir up trouble
whenever they can, especially
in Tokyo. Balanced against
that is the realization the
President of the United States
cannot permit the Commu
nists to dictate his travel
plans.
Things began going wrong
on April 19 when thousands
of students began their dem
onstrations against the gov
ernment of President Syng
man Rhee and forced his
resignation to begin an era
