Conventions, district meetings, workshops and flower shows have kept the news spotlight on several Med
ford groups in recent days. One of the largest events was the fashion show and champagne party which was
given to entertain Ladies of Elks during the Oregon State Elks association convention. Shewn on the fashion
runway, which was lined with huge champagne-type glasses in which orchids floated, is Miss JoAnne Jami
son, Rath's model, wearing a black gown and peignor. The several hundred women wh attended all re-
" ceived orchids and champagne punch was served.

Taylor, carrying a white poodle named "Canasta," is wearing an eyelet embroiderefd

With the annual show of the Medford Rose society almost over, the co
O chairmen relaxed over the coffee cups and began to decide that the
show had been a success, in spite of weeks of unfavorable weather for
rose growing. Mrs. Edith Updike, Medford, and Ranald Axtell, Trail,
glong with other society members worked countless hours on the big

Mrs. I. C. Gorden, member of the Central Point Garden club, was awarded a blue
ribbon for the tea table centerpiece which the enfcred for her club In the arrange
mentt division of the Medford Rose society's recent show, Mrs. Gorden holds a
silver plate awarded to the club which won seven blue ribbons in the division. Her
centerpiece was of Fire Flamt, an orange colored rose.
