Wants To Become
Spiritual Adviser
Hollywood -(UPC-Mr. Flor
ence Adland said Monday she
wants to become a spiritual
counselor dedicated to helping
young girls in trouble.
"I believe," she said, "that
so many young girls called ju
venile delinquents need under
standing and love-not punish
ment." Mrs. Adland's daughter.
Beverly Aadland, is scheduled
to be released from juvenile
hall today where she has been
held since April 9 lor lack ot
parental supervision.
She was committed there
the day bit actor William
Stanciu, 21, died from a bul
let wound he accidentally in
curred during a nude romp
with Beverly through her bed
room struggling for a gun.
Beverly, 17, will not return
to her mother's home, how
ever. Superior Judge Allen
Miller-who presided over the
teen-ager's sex delinquency
hearing-decreed she will re
side in the home of Leonard
Eilers, cowboy actor turned
evangelist, and his wife and
daughter in suburban Gra
nada Hills.
Said Not Qualified
Mrs. Adland said she came
to the conclusion that many
counselors associated with her
daughter during her confine
ment were not qualified to !
work with youngsters who
find themselves at odds with
the law.
"They (the delinquents)
need the kind of help I can i
give them," Mrs. Adland said, j
She allowed, however, that
the undertaking would have j
to wait until after her sched-1
uled eourt appearance Thurs-1
day on charges f ermfrfhut-
ing to Beverly's delinquency.
Has Read Bible
Mrs. Adland, 53, and plati
num haired but only 46 by
her own admission, said she is
"qualified to help those girls
and I know definitely that 1
can."
"1 have read the Bible three
times, I haven't had a date in
six months and I have always
tried to do the right thing,"
she said, listing her qualifica
tions.
"I'm also a licensed real es
tate broker, masseur and
manicurist," she sajd, "and I
have been asked by a number
of others to help them get
their daughters in show business."
