Beavers, winning 4-0 and los

same with Salt Lake, grabbing
the opener, 7-1, and dropping
the nightcap, 3-0.
San Diego and Spokane, the
only two teams who got to
play during the two wet days,
had their turn on the bench
last night, being washed nut
after getting in three score
less innings.
The schedule changes to-
nigiu. Vancouve is at Port

The Giants gut their first
winning performance from
righthander Eddie Fisher in
edging Vancouver in their
opener.
At Bay
Fisher, who had lost his
first four decisions, gave up
seven in the six innings he
worked, but, except for Ray
Barker's solo homer, managed
to keep the Motilities at bay.
The Giants made it a sweep
when they ran up a 41 lend
in the nightcap and then held
on. Vancouver scored single
runs in the eighth and ninth
frames to come within one
hut reliever Gordon Jones

the win fur Gianl starter Mar

Sacramento righty Claude

victory against no losses.
The Sacs got only three hits
off Portland starter Bob Alex

at the right limes.
In the nightcap. Beaver
pitcher Noel Mickelsen took
the spotlight, holding the
Solons to four safeties to run
his record to 41. George
Frecse belted a solo homer
