of 103 South Orange St., who
died Wednesday, will be held
at Conger Morris Funeral
home downtown chapel Tues
day at 1:30 p.m. The Rev.
James W. Neely of the First
Baptist church will officiate.
Committal will be in Siskiyou
Memorial park.
Mr. Medcalf was born Sept.
6. 1906, in Evansville, Ind.,
and had lived in Medford,
and had been employed as a
baker by Fluhrer Bakeries
for the past 22 years. He was
married May 4, 1930. in Itas
ca, Tex., to Mattie B. Cole,
who survives.
Other survivors include two
sons, Sgt. Louis W. Medcalf,
and Pfc. Bobby P. Medcalf,
both of Camp Pendleton,
Calif.; a daughter. Bertha May
Medcalf, Medford; his mother,
Mrs. Bertha Medcalf, Phoenix,
Ore.; three brothers, Victor
Medcalf, Phoenix, Ore.; Mil
ton Medcalf, Medford; and
Benson Medcalf, Fort Worth,
Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Ber
tha Carr, California; Mrs. Au
drey Williams, Phoenix, Ore.;
and Mrs. Juanita Councel,
Marshall, Tex.; one grandson
and one granddaughter.

August and Lizzie Croft. She
was married Dec. 25, 1912,
in Shedd, Ore., to Grover C.
Nicewood, who survives. She
came to the Rogue valley in
Mrs. Edward C. Root, SPring
3-2623: or Mrs. Frank L. Strat-
ton, SPring 2-5585.

Roxy Ann Grange
The public is invited to the
spaghetti dinner at the
Grange hall on Spring st.
April 30 from 5 to 9 p.m.
There will be entertainment.
Proceeds from the dinner will
go into the fund to be used
for the playground back of
the Grange hall.
Four members were given
the third and fourth degrees
by tile degree team at the
last regular meeting April 15.
Two were from Gold Hill and
Mr. and Mrs. James Redding
ton became members of Roxy
Ann. There were also nine
guests from Gold Hill, among
them Master Alva Walker.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Martin,
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Garrett,
Mrs. Eva Garrett and Webb
Hickle were on the serving
committee.
On April 29 the degree team
will go to Williams Grange in
Josephine county to confer
the third and fourth degrees
on 34 candidates.
A Mother's day program is
planned for the next regular
meeting May 6.

land; a daughter, Mrs. Mar
nelle Hutchins, Empire, Ore.;
a brother, Robert A. Williams,
Prospect; a sister, Mrs. Lila
Bevens, Prospect, and one
granddaughter.

Mrs. H. Caith Miller. 56,
died at her home in Warm
Beach, Wash., April 26. She
is the former Margaret Har
vey, Medford, a daughter of
Mrs. H. H. Harvey, 726 West
Fourth St., and late Mr. Har
vey. A graduate of Medford
schools and the University of
Washington, Mrs. Miller was
a frequent valley visitor.
Other survivors include her
husband; four sons; two sis
ters, Mrs. John Niedermeyer
and Mrs. Alberta Boardman,
both Medford, and one broth
er, Milburn Harvey, Fall
brook, Calif.
