Decision Due in
McDonald Case
Portland - (UPD - Circuit
Judge Eugene Oppenheimer
indicated today he will ren
der his decision Monday on
the proposed motion for the
postponement of the trial of
Levi S. McDonald, charged
in the Jan. 31 dynamiting of
newspaper trucks.
Following a hearing on mo
tions for either a postpone
ment or a change of venue of
the April 26 trial, Oppenhei
mer said he would have to
study the matter more close
ly before giving his decision.
Oppenheimer, however, did
rule against the change of
venue motion by McDonald.
"There will be no change of
venue because the defendant
has indicated he does not be
lieve he can get a fair trial
anywhere in the state. There
fore, since we will be bring
ing him to trial against his
wishes anywhere in Oregon,
I can see no advantage of hold
ing it outside Multnomah
county," he said.
