Raynaud's Disease
Quite a few nervous women
want to know why they have
Raynaud's disease. They get
a era mping
of the little
blood vessels
in some of
their fingers,
and, as a re
sult, the fin
gers tend to
become blood
1 e s s and
white. In win-
nn 11.VARE' ter. tne nn-
fppi vprv cold. Often.
if the patient thinks back, she
can remember that the trouble
came at a time when she was
overwhelmed with some great
sorrow, or great anxiety or
disaster. Usually, there isn't
much to do except to wear
fur-lined gloves in winter.
Some people could probably
help themselves a good deal
if thev 'could only stay more
calm and not blow their top
so often, or to worry so easily.
The person can make matters
worse by smoking.
Spinal Anesthesia
Usually. sDinal anesthesia
is so safe that in many big
medical clinics, hundreds or
thousands of such anesthetics
are given satisfactorily each
year. A spinal anesthetic is
particularly advisable in the
case of a Derson who has
severe disease in his lungs
disease (which might easily
flare up into a pneumonia
after the use of ether. When
spinal anesthesia works well,
it is ideal, and many a sur
geon prefers it to any other
form of anesthesia for opera
tions on the lower half of the
body. The only sad feature is
that in rare, cases perhaps
when the person happens to
have some inflammatory or
tumor-forming process silent
ly at work in his spinal canal
- the anesthesia will leave
him more or less paralyzed
from the waist down. In such
unhappy cases, I have the
deepest sympathy for the pa
tient, but at the same time, I
cannot see how the anesthe
tist or the surgeon or the hos
pital can be blamed. If I ever
have to have my prostate
gland operated on I'll prob
ably accept the surgeon's
orders, and take a spinal
anesthetic. I'll know that I
shouldn't be uneasy because
the chances of my having any
real difficulty are so very
small.

EQUIPMENT LEASING
New York -(UPD- The $200

Meckler, president of Lease

men are coming to realize
that they can use capital out

they lease equipment and that
rental expenses are deductible
for income tax purposes.
