Villanova (9-0) opposes
Temple 10-3 in the first game
of the doubleheader and then
LaSalle (9-0) takes on Syra

it would not be a major upset
if either Temple or Syracuse
won.
A crowd of 6.800 saw Steve
Strange throw in 34 points on
12 fields goals and 10 free
throws in addition to hauling
down 16 rebounds to lead
SMU, pre-season Southwest
conference favorite, to its vic
otry over the Texas Aggies.
SMU out-rebounded the Ag

cent of its field goal attempts
compared to 36 per cent for
the Cadets.
The Aggies scored seven
straight points in the final
minutes to pull within their
two-point deficit but SMU
controlled the ball at the fin
