OUR SINGINQ FAMILY
In the days of Hitler, the Trapp family fled their
native Austria and settled, nearly penniless, in
America. They found new life and happiness as a
traveling singing group which delighted tens of
thousands and led to the popular book, "The Story
of the Trapp Family Singers."
The current Broadway hit, "The Sound of Music,"
is a musical adaptation of that book and stars Mary
Martin. The world-wide adventures of the family
are continued in Mrs. Trapp's latest book, "A Fam
ily on Wheels," from which the following is
excerpted.
