TOLLMAN - The 1960 Hillman is on display at Parson Mo-ton,-315
East Fifth st. The new British car has a wider wind
shield and the brake lining has been increased on the deluxe
models, it was reported. Horsepower of the vehicle has been
increased to 56 horsepower and several new color combina
tions ar avialable. Several models of the automobile are
available Including station wagons. . , '
TRIUMPH - The 1960 Triumph is now on display at Keith
Schulz, Triumph Sales, and Service, 116 North Front st.
The roadster shown is the TR3 model which features a 100
horsepower engine.

Court Will Decide
On 'Moonlighting'
Portland - (OPD - The legal
ity of "moonlighting" by
Multnomah county sheriffs
deputies was to be decided in
a case here Monday in the
circuit court of Judge Alan
Davis.
Deputies were ordered sev
eral weeks ago to stop moon
lighting or taking other jobs
after regular hours, by Sher
iff Francis Lambert.
Baker Man Convicted
Of Criminal Libel.
Baker - (OPD - Julius Kere-
bas. Baker, was convicted of
criminal libel by a circuit
court jury after five hours of
deliberation Friday night.
Kerebas was accused of
writing a letter to City Man
ager Paul Revis complaining
about Police Chief Fred G.
Still.
Sentencing was set for Mon
day by Judge William F.
Brownton, La Grande. ;
Eagle Point School
Mrs. Julie Johnston s first
grade students made turkeys
for Thanksgiving.
Mrs. Vera L. Selby, first
grade teacher in Eagle Point
grade school, returned to
school Nov. 16. During her ab
sence, Mrs. James Collier and
Mrs. Thomas Van Etten sub
stituted for her.
Mrs. Selby's students made
the 50-star flags for Veterans
Day.
Mrs. Elsie Turner's second
grade is making a film on a
typical community village.
They have completed the box
in which their film is to be
shown and the community vil
lage is completed.
Students are working on
construction of a bookworm.
Each time they read a book
they add another segment.
They are also struggling with
their insect cage, in which
they have a cocoon and some
butterflies.
A storekeeper gave Mrs.
Turner's - students a totem
pole made out of paper which
they put together and is now
on display in the room.
Scott Charters, a student in
Mrs. Turner's room, brought
a bouquet of pheasant feath
ers and colored leaves.
Mrs. Emily Gregg's second
grade pupils made paper-
mache pumpkins for Hallo
ween. They also have com
pleted science booklets on
animals.

Antelope Clothing Club
On November 21, the An
telope Clothing 4-H club meet
ing was held at the home of
Jo Anna Malloroy. The pur
pose of the meeting was to
work on the club's commun
ity project, which is making
stuffed toys for Medford hos
pitals. Paulette Anderson and Lola
Ackerman made a stuffed
fawn from turquoise wool
plaid with rust colored ears
and white embroidery.
Alice Woolfolk, Florence
Woolfolk and Jo Anna Mal
loroy chose to make a stuffed
camel out of white cotton with
black and brown polka dots
and black embroidery.
Karen Jossy chose a stuffed
horse of red embossed cotton
with embroidery and French
knots.
Jennifer Nevin and Elaine
Meyer's suffed bear was of
printed flannel. Judy Hill
made a stuffed donkey of
white cotton with black apd
rust colored polka dots with
contrasting black embroidery.
A stuffed elephant on print
ed cotton was the project of
Gloria Meyer and Liz Flint.
Donna Geren chose pink and
white checked cotton for a
stuffed lion.
Diana Barton's stuffed gir
affe was red and white striped
pillow ticking.
The slumber party that was
to be held Nov. 20 at Jo Anna
Mallory's was cancelled. The
date for the slumber party
was reset for Dec! 4, at Jo
Anna Mallory's house.
The first regular clothing
workshop of the year will be
held Dec. 5 at the home of
Jennifer Nevin.

Salem Girl Draws
2-Year Probation
Salem - (UPD - A 19-year-old
Salem girl who was arrested
in connection with the beat
ing of two railway employes
in downtown Salem Oct. 21
was placed on probation for
two years by Marion County
Circuit Judge George Duncan
Friday.
Rose Marie Hickman was
convicted of a charge of riot.
Her , two companions, Dale
Wayne Donaldson, 20, and
Roe Junior Wellman, 19, were
also convicted. They were
given terms of two years each
in the state correctional institution.

dents showed a 12 XA per cent
increase for the first nine
months of this year over the

By the end of September,

on highways and streets were
reported.

Vancouver Trucker
Killed in Crash
Albany, Ore. - (UPD - Arnold
Walter Furrow, 39, Vancouv
er, Wash'., was killed Friday
afternoon when his truck left
Highway 20 about 3Vi miles
west of here, rolled and sheer-

ed off a telephone pole.
Fufrow was driving a
Southern Pacific truck heav
ily loaded with tools and
equipment at the time of the
accident, state police said.
Officers said Furrow had
just rounded a curve when his
truck went out of control,
traveling some 172 feet while
