discussion class at the home
of Mrs. Frances Pearson Nov.

tion of the club were Arthur
Becker and Augh-Friel. Both
Catholics and non Catholics
are invited to attend the
classes. The second meeting
was at the home of Mrs. Ray

Guild of the Church of the
Good- Shepherd includes an
executive meeting Nov. 3 at
the home of Mrs. O. E.' Stone
for discussion of projects. On
Nov. 4, women of the Guild
met at the Stone residence to
workon puppets to be given
to children who enter Rogue
Valley hospital. On Nov. 5,
several members of the Guild
met at the home of Mrs. Mar
cus Dey to mail out Christmas
Seals for the year. This is a
yearly project for the Guild.

ward Butchino car struck the
ice and ran into a logging
truck in front of the Mill
Creek Cafe. The father, moth
er and two . of the girls are
still in the hospital. The log
ging truck was a Skeeters
truck driven, by Walter Car.
The truck ran into the front
of the cafe and was badly
damaged.

Suffers Collapse
Hollywood. -UPD- Comedian
Jerry Lewis,. 33, collapsed
Tuesday after running several
times up a long flight of stairs
while making a motion pic
ture, but he recovered a short
time later and returned to his
acting chores. .
Lewis was given an electro
cardiagram examination by
Dr. Marvin Levy which show
ed he did not suffer a heart
attack. Levy described the
collapse similar to that of a
man who runs the 100-yard
dash, collapses and is all right
in a few minutes.
Neuberger Urges
Cancer Step-Up
Los Angeles-IUPD-Sen. Rich
ard L. Neuberger (D-Ore.)'
charged Tuesday night that
present cancer " research in
the United States is like
"hunting elephants r with a
pea-shooter."
Urging full-scale efforts to
combat cancer, he declared,
"this country is attempting
to fight cancer with less than
half of what we spend an
nually on permanent waves."
Neuberger was ; stricken
with, cancer himself last year.
He was honored Tuesday
night as the 1960 "Man" of
Hope" at a banquet given by
the City of Hope, a national
organization set up to-further
medical research.
