minister who won big money
on te&vision quiz shows said
today he nerer was asked a
question he had not answered
in pre-how warmups.
But, the Rev. C.E. (Stoney)
Jackson Jr. said the shows he
appeared on, "The. $64,000
Question" Snd "The $64,000
Challenge" were "very saintly
compared to what I read about
on some of those other shows."
Never Told Questions
Jackson won $16,000 on
"The $64,000 Question" and
$4,000 on "The $64,000 Chal
lenge."
Jackson, a minister of the
Christian Church, said he was
asked questions before some
of th shows.
"They never told me what
fhey were going to ask me on
the show. .
Thly just asked me about
50 questions beforehand and
if I missed 15 they'd never
ask me one of the 15 I never
got a question that I hadn't
already arswered."
Jackson said he thought
"te shows I was on were far
more subtle than the ones I've
been reading about since this
came up in Washington. Those
$6,4000 shows were very
saintly ly comparison."

Jackson said he reached the

to me. They were all friendly
before that and I had grown
to like them but they were

4-H Organization
Meeting Tonight
A 4-H organization and in

held at 7:30 o'clock tonight
in the music room of the
Jacksonville school for. per
sons in the Jacksonville and
Griffin Creek areas interested
in 4-H work, Glenn Klein,
county 4-H agent has an
nounced. Residents of that area, he
said, have indicated an inter
est in starting new clubs in
livestock, rocks and minerals,

ry. Leaders have already been
contacted, he said.
Requirements and informa

Eagle Point - "The Perfect
Crime" will be shown at the
Eagle Point grade school gym
nasium Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. It
is a safety film being shown
by the representative of the
Oregon State Industrial Acci
dent commission and is being
sponsored by the Eagle Point
Safety committee which is
composed of representatives
from all organizations.
A short discussion will fol
low the film showing. .
The City has painted zones
and division lines on city
streets.
Wednesday, Oct. 14, ladies
of the Eagle Point Community
church will meet at the
church for a work day com
mencing at 10:30 a.m.
Mrs. Alma Meyer, Mrs. Baker
and Mrs. C. P. Henderson,
who attended for the first
time, and Mrs. Ben Gardner,
who visited from the Reese
Creek Unit. All ladies were
urged to attend the safety
film to be shown Oct. 21 and
a discussion was held on the
Red Cross First Aid course
to be given as part of the
club's safety program for the
year. The next meeting will
be held at the home of Mrs.

achievement night Saturday,

achievement pins and awards

Spindle discussed methods
of getting materials and pre
sented ideas on how to con
tinue doing community, state,
and national services. The
junior chamber of commerce
voted to conduct the. "Oregon
$1 Per Shot Polio-Vaccine"
project in this area along with
Medford, Central Point, and
the Ashland groups. More in
formation with the date, time
and place will be announced
later for those not having
polio vaccination previously.

cees will be at the Scout house
Oct. 22 at 8 p.m. All interest
ed men between 21 and 35 are

An election for the sewer
bond will be voted on at the
regular polls in Eagle Point
at the high school gymnasium
from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 19.
