Fall Flower Show
This arrangement of garden flowers in autumn colors won a prize for Mrs.
Charles Cushman, Trail, at the recent flower show given by Eagle Point Garden
club. Mrs. Cushman combined sprays of feathery goldenrod with yellow mari
feJB0JdVand zinnias of ..coppery orange and yellow tones with one or two ; of i
reddish hue for accent. The footed--pottery bowl gave the arrangement heights'

A manikin in the midst of fall flowers, grasses and vegetables portrayed the theme "Autumn Splendor"
of the flower show held September .3 by Eagle Point. Garden club at the Oasis. Mrs. Otto Nagel, schedule-chairman
of the show, is pictured with the large arrangement which stood in the center of the hall.
Mrs. W.E. Davies, show. chairman, helped to decorate the hall for the show and then; left. for Salem
where she and her husband arranged an exhibit" for Jhe Oregon State fair. The gardeners, who won a
judge's award for their theme-of-show exhibit, draped the manikin in gold satin and used only blos
. soms of. autumn tones at her feet. .This was .the' first standard flower show ever held by the club.

This whimsical entry attracted considerable attention at the recent flower show of Eagle Point Garden club, and was awarded a
blue ribbon by the. judges, Mrs. Alma G. Meyer, club member pictured with her entry filled a discarded heavy work shoe with the'
succulent commonly known as "hen and chickens" and entered it in the Nursery Rhyme division of the show. She entitled the ar
rangement "Old Woman in the Shoe." Mrs. Meyer first filled the shoe, which has dirt clinging to if, with garden soil and believes
that the easy-to-grow plants will flourish in the unusual container.
Mrs. A. Wattenburg, staging chairman, was awarded a prize for her
table setting centerpiece and arrangement entered in the recent autumn
""flower show of Eagle Point Garden club. Mrs. Wattenburg used beautiful
pink rubrum lilies, flecked with gold, in a flat silver bowl for her center
piece. China used in the table setting was Spode in the cowslip design.
Mrs. Wattenburg is wearing a cotton frock of unusual design which she
modeled earlier in the afternoon ; for a style show given by Town and
. ' Country shop of Eagle Point.
