Fullmer may switch to a
southpaw attack in his world

bout with Carmen Basilio
Aug. 28 at the Cow Palace.
That's what Fullmer's man
ager, Marv Jensen intimated
Thursday.
"I can tell you that we will
be ready with everything in
this fight with Basilio," Jen

Basilio didn't look too good
in his fights against southpaw
Chuck Davey."
Basilio fought Davey twice
in 1952, losing once and gain

When informed of the
verbal jabs, Basilio countered:
"It doesn't make any dif-J

fights southpaw or right-handed.
The main thing is that he'll
have to fight three minutes
of every round and may not
have time to switch."
Both fighters continued in

Sam is faced with a prob

He has balked at partici

No Drags
This Sunday
No drag races will be held
this Sunday, Aug. 23, at the
Camp White drag strip.
Sponsors of the races,
Southern Oregon Timing As
sociation, pointed out that the
drags previously scheduled
that date have been moved
one week, to Sunday, Aug.
30, and are being billed as
the Roseburg disaster bene

All proceeds from the event
will go to help rebuild the
city of Roseburg, badly dam
aged by an explosion and fire
two weeks ago. Officials of
the timing association have
yet to indicate which organ

Contestants from through
out the state have been asked
to participate in this meet.
Local merchants are donat

which will be awarded to the

considerable funds, which
would otherwise be spent for

competition will be held in

LONGYEAR INDUSTRIAL DIAMOND DRILLS

Reinforced Concrete, Brick, Masonry, Tile, Cast Iron, etc.
FASTER
Diamond drilling takes advan
tage of the ability of diamonds
to cut other materials. Hun
dreds of small stones are set
with sharp edges exposed for
maximum cutting action. Dia-
monds in Longyear bits are
carefully positioned to make
full use of natural cutting
edges.
CHEAPER
The extreme hardness of- dia
monds gives them excellent
wearing qualities, making dia
mond bits outperform and out
last other types of cutting tools.
A hole 4-6 inches in diameter
through solid concrete 4 inches
thick can be drilled in from
3 to 5 minutes.
BETTER
Holes drilled with diamond bits
are clean and even, eliminating
expensive patch-up work after

required can be trapped and
