Statewide Group
For Humphrey's
Campaign Named
Portland-(CPD-Formatioii of
a statewide planning conunit
tee for Sen. Hubert M.
Humphrey's campaign in the
1960 Oregon Democratic pres
idential primary was announ
ced Wednesday.
Keith .Burns of Portland
spokesman for the group, said
the committee soon would
consider selection of campaign
leaders in every county of
the state. It will be called
. "Oregon Democrats for
Humphrey."
The Minnesota lawmaker's
candidacy for the presidency
recently was announced.
Burns, a Multnomah county
deputy district attorney, said
the committee was "highly
gratified over the wide public
support that the prospective
candidacy of Senator Humph
rey has evoked in Oregon
and is confident he wiUwage
a forthright and victorious
campaign in the Oregon pri
mary."
Among members of the
Legislature in the committee
are State Sens. Robert W,
Straub, Springfield; William
A. Grenfcll Jr., Portland
Dan Dimick, Roseburg,. and
Dwight Hopkins, Imbler
State Reps. Ed Benedict,
Gresham and Carl Yancey,
Klamath Falls: Wayne Tur
ner, St. Helens; Bill Bradley,
Troutdale, and John L. Ker-
bow, Klamath Falls.

Hood River will assume the
pastorate of the McMinnville
district with congregations at
Newberg and Yamhill as well
as McMinnville.
Also transferring will be Et

who will assume district con
trol of the Grande Ronde,
Dallas, Fall City and Sheridan
congregations. Elder M. M.
Mohr of Dallas will become
pastor of the Forest Grove,
Gaston and Laurelwood
churches.
