Honor Couple;
Rites Yesterday
Two recent parties honor

Black Oak drive, whose wed
ding to Philip H. Stansbury,
Aihland, was set for yesterday
afternoon, June 20, at St
Mark's Episcopal church.
Mrs. Donald . Herried was
hostess for a shower which
"honored the bride-to-be, the
hostess inviting friends to the
Herried home, 108 Black Oak
drive. The shower was held
in the late afternoon, and at
6:30 -o'clock Mr. Herried, Mr,
Stansbury and the husbands
of other guests joined the
group for cocktails. Fifteen
couples attended.
Another cocktail party was
given for Mrs. Henry and Mr.
Stansbury by Mr. and Mrs.
Houston L. Bush Jr., 118
Black Oak drive. This was
rd June 5 at the Bush home

Held in Memorial Chapel
Miss Shirley Miriam Hutchinson, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Keva E. Hutchinson, 22 South Keeneway drive, became
the bride of Willard J. James, Denver, Colo., son of Mrs.
Willard A. James, Parsons, Kansas, in a ceremony held June
10 in Meeker Memorial chapel
Dr. George C. Roseberry of

the bridegroom, and Dr. How
ard B. Thompson, Hardtner,
Kansas, cousin of the bride
groom. For her daughter's wedding
Mrs. Hutchinson wore a rose
colored cotton lace frock. Mrs.
James wore an aquamarine re
embroidered lace frock. Their
corsages were of cream col
ored orchids.
Mrs. Jennie Hutchinson,
grandmother of the bride,
wore a blue lace dress with
white carnation corsage., '
' The reception which fol
lowed the wedding was in
the patio at the Hutchinson
home. Mrs. Richard Stratton
and Miss Diane Olmsted, cous
in of the bride, cut and serv
ed the cake, and Mrs. Eugene
Olmsted, Grangeville, Idaho,
aunt of the bride, presided
at the punch bowl. Mrs. Hen
ry C. Gerber, Klamath Falls,
poured the coffee. Mrs. Hugh
B. Nelson, Portland, was in
charge of the guest book. Jill
and Julie Blackhurst passed
the mints and bridegroom's
cake.
The newlywed, couple are
making their home in Estes
Park, Colo., and will return
to Denver in September. For
her traveling attire the bride
wore a beige sheath dress
with matching jacket and
black patent accessories.
The bride is a graduate
of Willamette university and
did graduate study at the Uni
versity of Denver. She is a
child welfare worker with the
Washington county welfare
department in Hillsboro. Mr.
James is a graduate of the
University of Tulsa and the
University of Denver and is
an instructor at Colorado
academy in Denver.
Among the out - of - town
guests attending were Mr.
Olmsted, Grangeville, Idaho;
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert James,
Parsons, Kansas; Mrs. Thomp
son, Hardtner,. Kansas; Mrs.

Talent' - The wedding of
Miss Lynn . Christine Leard,
daughter of Mrs. Earl B.
Leard, 4886 South Pacific
highway, to Robert Ellis
Miller, Ephrata, Wash., took
place Saturday, June 6, in
Talent Friends church.
Pastor A. Clark Smith per
formed the single-ring service
at 2 o'clock. Fifty guests were
present.
The bridegroom is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. Ellis S. Miller,
Ephrata.
The bride wore a ballerina
length gown of white lace
over taffeta and carried white
carnations and talisman roses.
She was attended by her
sister, Miss Gale Leard, who
wore a similar gown of pink
lace over taffeta.
Dan Miller, Ephrata, broth
er of the bridegroom, was best
man. Fred Dunham, Ephrata,
and John Brennan were ush
ers. James Scott, brother-in-law
of the bride, gave her in
marriage. He also sang.
A reception followed at the
church.
The bride is a graduate of
Medford High school. Her
husband was graduated from
Ephrata High school and
Wenatctiee Valley Junior col
lege and is now an engineer
aid with the U.S. Bureau of
Public Roads. "
They are making their
home at 427 North Grape
street following a wedding
trip to California.

In Reno Service
Butte Falls Miss Aileen
Smith, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Don C. Smith, Butte
Falls, became the bride of
Floyd Berg; in a ceremony
held at the Park's chapel at
Reno, Nev., in May. ,
The bridegroom is a son
of Mr. and Mrs. George Berg
of the Butte Falls area.
The bride's parents accom
panied the couple to Reno.
Mrs. Smith attended her
daughter, and Mr. Smith gave
his daughter in marriage and
acted as best man for the
bridegroom.
The bride is a graduate of
the Butte Falls High school
and has been living in Med
ford the past seven years
where she was employed by
the American Laundry.
The bridegroom is a gradu
ate of Eagle Point High school
and is employed by the Cas
cade Lumber company at
Camp White. -
Following their wedding
trip, the newlyweds are now
making their home in the
Trail area.

liam Pfaff are making their

riage May 22 in Yreka, Calif.
The bride is the former
Barbara Ann Pilcher, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. L. R.
Pilcher, 529 Midway road, and
the bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pfaff,
647 Laurel street, Central
Point.
For her wedding, the bride
wore a blue linen suit with a
white gardenia corsage and
white accessories.

Gail Prentice to Larry Gene
Hammond, at First Presbyter
ian church. The bride's par
ents are Mr. and Mrs. W, H.
Prentice, 1432 Crown avenue,
and the gridegroom is a son
of Mr.and Mrs. T. W. Ham
mond, 423 Beatty street.
Dr. D. Kirkland West read
the double-ring marriage serv
ice at three o'clock in the af
ternoon and Mr. Prentice gave
his daughter in marriage.
About 50 guests attended.
The bride wore a gown of
white nylon organdy trimmed
with lace and her illusion veil
was held by a lace cap trim
med with seed pearls. She car
ried a white orchid with
white carnations.
Miss Linda Hall was the
honor attendant and brides
maids were Miss Janet Young
and Miss Christine Prentice,
sister of the bride. Their
frocks were of pink nylon
dotted Swiss worn with
matching shoes and hats and
they carried white daisies.

cake. Miss Karen Johnson
took charge of the guest book
and Miss Charlotte Parsons,
Tulelake, Calif., the gift ta
ble. For the wedding and recep
tion the bride's mother wore
a gown of coffee colored lace
-over gold colored satin, and a
green orchid corsage. The
bridegroom's mother wore a
pale blue brocaded satin suit
with white hat and pink or
chid corsage.
The bride's grandmother,
Mrs. H. Rv Prentice, wore a
navy blue ensemble with
white accessories and white
corsage.
