at Oregon State college this
year will include the broad
est offering, of courses , and
special workshops and, semi
nars in campus history, ac
cording to Dr. F. K. Zeran,
dean of education and sum
mer school director. -
Drawing special emphasis
will be science teacher drain
ing, summer study for high
school graduates working to
qualify for college, and grad
uate work for elementary and
high school teachers.
Dates for the annual eight
week session are June 22 to
Aug: 14. "" :
"Forty-one workshops and
seminars will.begiven in edu
cation, science, home econom
ics, agriculture, . industrial
arts and businesses. They will
be concentrated 'courses In
various fields for periods
ranging from two. to eight
weeks.
Regular Courses . .. .
The workshops are in addi
tion, to regular course offer
ings in the various schools.
Twenty-seven visiting staff
members who are specialists
in various fields of study will
supplement the regular OSC
staff for summer session.
The possibility ; f o r some
high school graduates to use
the summer session as a "test
ing or proving ground" for
their interest, and . capacity
for college has been suggest

ical division of the Tau Kap
pa Alpha' Invitational tourna
ment in ' Montana. She won
first place in the Delta Sigma
Rho-Tau Kappa Alpha Great
West tournament in Nevada.
She also won first place in
the Women's State After-Din-ner

INDIANS SOCIAL CLUB :
' Los Angeles -(UPD- There Is
an active social club in South
ern California dedicated to
keeping big-city Indians from
getting lonely for their reser
vations and tribes. The Drum
and Feathers ' club holds a
monthly Pow-Wow whieh fea
tures different tribal, ritual
dances, singing and lots of
talk. Its , membership , varies
from 25 to 50 Indians. The
club was founded three .years
ago by "Victor . Roebuck, an
electrician. Many of its mem
bers such as Foster Hood, ap
pear often in film and TV pro

been picked for the other two
institutes. .
OSC is one of the nation's
leading centers for science
teacher training programs
sponsored by the National
Science Foundation.
