day, May 28, at the First
Church of Christ, Scientist,
100 Windsor ave., at 8 p.m.
His topic will be "Christian
Science Reveals Spiritual
Forces in Action. Seeley, a
member of the Christian Sci
ence Board of Lectureship,
will tell how Christianty can
meet today's individual and
world problems if put into
action. The public is invited.
Lions Club Plans
Events for 4-H
Club Wagon Train
The Jacksonville Lions
club will play host to the 4-H
Empire Builders' Wagon train
June 8 as they leave the area
for Corvallis, Ike Dunford,
Jacksonville Gold Rush Ju
bilee chairman, announced.
The wagon train is set to
leave at 8:30 ajn. June 8 fol
lowing a buckaroo breakfast.
Although the event is spon
sored by the Jacksonville
Lions club, other civic groups
are also assisting.
Dunford reported that the
Gold Rush Jubilee committee
will handle arrangements for
a Sunday, June 7, evening
cookout for the 4-H club mem
bers to be followed by a camp-
fire sing.
Equipment Check
Current plans call for the
members to set up camp on
the Jacksonville High school
grounds Sunday afternoon to
check equipment and sup
plies. The committee is seeking a
local club to stage the chicken
barbecue. Groups interested in j
assisting are asked to con
tact Dunford, John Crabb, Ju
bilee assistant chairman, or
Russ Jamison, who are work
ing with Glenn Klein, 4-H
county agent.
Following the Sunday eve
ning events an organizational
meeting will be held to elect
a wagonmaster and other of
ficers for the trek.
The public is invited to at
tend the Sunday afternoon
and Monday morning barbe
cue and breakfast.
University Sets
Graduation Events

week end will begin at the
University of Oregon Friday,
June 12, and will end with
formal exercises and confer
ring of degrees Sunday, June
14.

Alumni Day, Saturday, will
open with an annual breakfast
meeting of the State Associa
tion of University of Oregon
Women in the Erb Memorial
Union building. The Half Cen
tury club will be honored at
Alumni Day luncheon, and re
unions will be held for classes
of 1909, 1914, 1919, 1929 and
1934.
Members of the class of
1959 and all alumni will be
invited to a President's Recep
tion at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in
Gerlinger hall. The various
classes will hold reunion din
ners in downtown hotels and
in the Erb building.
Members of the graduating
class will attend a banquet
and ball beginning at 7 pjn.
Saturday in the Eugene hotel.
Sunday, the military depart
ment will hold commissioning
ceremonies in the school of
music auditorium. The flow
er and fern procession will
be held that afternoon with
formal commencement and
baccalaureate exercises and
conferring of degrees at Hay-
ward field at 2:20 pjn.
