girls as the need arises.
The dormitory will be

summer and construction is

year. The building will be
ready for use by the fall term
In 1960.

Buys Plaza Cafe
At Public Sale
Ashland - Mrs. John Com
pagnoni, Medford, who pur
chased the equity of Ralph
and Doris Schulte in the
Plaza cafe this week, plans
to reopen the cafe as a Chi
nese and American food resta
urant in a few days.
Mrs. Compagnoni pur
chased the equity in the cafe
this week at a public auction
by the internal revenue serv
ice, which closed the cafe
earlier this month because the
Schultes failed to pay with
holding and social security
taxes.
The Medford woman's bid
was the only bid submitted
for the equity ahd property as
a whole. She said she has ac
quired the services of Handue
(Henry) Wong and Ying Koon
Woo as chefs.
Bid oa Two Groups
Bidding started on two
groups of items. One was the
equity in the fixtures and
furnishings, some of which
had conditional sales con
tracts, according to Revenue
Agent Erie Gray, Medford.
The other item was canned
supplies, candy and cigars,
against which there was no
obligation. "
Mrs. Compagnoni submitt
ed the only bid on the fix
tures and furnishings, at
$1,000, but three bidders
started on the canned sup
plies, candy and cigars. The
Medford woman submitted
the highest bid.
Gray then asked for bids
on the property as a whole,
and Mrs. Compagnoni's bid
was the only one received. The
equity was sold to her since
her bid on the entire unit
was more than the toal bids
on the two items offered
separately.
Gray said the treasury de
partment is not looking for
Schulte, although Ashland
police have issued a missing
person's call for him at the
request of friends. He has
been missing since the time
the cafe was closed.
