IT'S SPRING! Norma Gloason
Make an egg-shell garden. It's easy! Ask mother
to save a dozen egg shells with the carton they
come in. Keep the bigger half of each shell and
fill them with earth from the garden. (Ark where
you can dig for good black dirt.) Plant two or
three seeds in each shell, and put them in a sunny
window, right in the egg carton. Mother may have
some flower seeds for you pansies, marigolds, or
petunias or just for fun try some orange seeds.
Keep them moist, and after the seeds have
sprouted pull out all but the largest plant in each
shell. When these are big enough, break the shells
slightly and plant them in the garden.

Make your own bubble
blower if you can't find
your pipe. A pea shooter,
soda straw, or a piece of
macaroni makes the blower
part. Poke it into a hole of
a cone of paper you tape to
gether. Now mix a table
spoon of soapflakes in warm
water. It is fun to add a
few drops of vegetable color
ing and a tablespoon of gly
cerin or oil (for tougher
bubbles). Mix well. Dip
your blower into the suds
and blow gently.
Make up your own game
with the bubbles you blow.

TRANSFER PICTURES

Here is a way to decorate paper plates, make greeting
cards, decorate a letter, or just have fun!
Have your tools ready. They are water, turpentine,
tincture of green soap, newspaper or magazine pictures
(comics?), cleansing tissues, and some plain white paper.
Now mix a teaspoon of turpentine and a teaspoon of
green soap in one cup of water. Dip the tissue in this
solution and wipe it all over the picture. After two minutes
lay the picture, face down, on the plain white paper. Rub
gently over the back of the picture with the back of a
spoon. Lift the picture gently from the paper and the
picture is copied in reverse!

Do you have a piece of

Toot-Tootle-Do!
Nat Bradford
You need five or more
players for this game. All
stand in line at one end of a
30-foot yard with the player
who is IT standing in the
middle. The safety line is at
the opposite end of the yard.
Then IT calls one player
by name, like this: "Johnny
Jenkins, Toot-Tootle-Do!
Hurry up, or I'll catch you!"
Then IT must catch him.
The player has to run to
the safety line. He can dodge
this way and that to get
there. If he is caught, he
has to "help IT catch the
others. At the end of the
game each uncaught player
has to try to get back to the
starting line when IT calls
his name again. The first
one caught is IT next game.

Tooth paste is for your teeth
Listeria is for your breath. Germs
in the mouth cause most bad breath,
and you need an antiseptic to kill
germs.
Always reach for Listerine after
you brush your teeth. No tooth

kills germs the way Listerine Antisep
