Americana Lamps
New York-UPD-Sophisticat-ed
treatments of American
motifs make a strong bid for
attention in lamp collections.
In lamps, as in furniture,
the revived interest in Ameri
cana covers a wide range
from outright traditional in
terpretations to merely a hint
of the past in softened con
temporary forms.
These new designs, reports
the Lamp and Shade Institute
of America, are a far cry from
the quaint little knick-kacks
formerly called "colonial."
