First you select two small teams. They are called the
cowpunchers and the dogies (the motherless calves
in a range herd). Each team has a leader. The corral,
or home base, is selected. Then the cowpunchers hide
their eyes and count to 500 while the dogies' leader sees
that all the dogies 'are hidden. Then he comes back and
joins the cowpunchers who now go in search of the
dogies. When the dogies' leader feels that his herd can
get back to the corral without being caught, he shouts
out, "Git along, little dogies, git along, git along!" and
they all rush back to the corral. The cowpunchers also
rush back. The side getting all its players to the corral
first wins the game. In fact, they become the dogies of
the next game.

Can You Carry Water?

This game should be played out
' of-doors or some place where it
won't matter if water is spilled. The
object is to carry a measuring cup
ful of water on the back of your
hand a distance of about 12 or 15
feet. It's not as easy as you might
think! Better use a cup of tin or
aluminum. If the game is played in
doors or on a concrete or board
walk, it adds to the fun if some
one stands ready with a large mop
to wipe up spills. If many are play
ing, divide the players into pairs
and see which can beat the other to
the goal. When you're finished with
carrying the cup on the back of
your hand, you might try it on top
of your head!
