Blaze Guts Vacant
House in Portland
Portland - (CPD - Fire of
undetermined origin gutted a
vacant two-story frame house
here Thursday with loss esti
mated at $15,000.
The house was owned by
Ray Casselman. It had been
vacated two weeks ago by
Lawrence Fish and his family.
Fish is the Oswego school
superintendent.
Firemen fought the blaze
for an hour and a half. '
Humphrey in Moscow
For Three-Day Visit

rived in Moscow today for a
three-day visit.
He had been in Geneva as
congressional advisor to the
U.S. delegation participating
in the nuclear weapons talks
and subsequently visited Berlin.

at the annual convention of
the Izaak Walton division
here Saturday.
The award is for two con
servation achievements con
sidered outstanding in the

Neuberger led the drive in
Congress to amend the Klam
ath Indian termination act to
permit harvesting of yellow
pine on a sustained basis so
the Upper Klamath marsh
could be preserved as a na
tional wildlife refuge.
The senator also was instru
mental in securing passage of
the Outdoor Recreational Re
source Review act. ,
